OVERVIEW
VISION
Develop a fully connected, strong SRM alumni community.
MISSION
Advance SRM Institute of Science and Technology by promoting alumni relationships, fostering commitment among students and enabling student–alumni interactions. This mission is brought to life through events and programs such as:
• Maintaining alumni website and social media pages • Maintaining alumni database • Publishing newsletter • Fostering alumni visits to campus • Helping alumni with Institute-related activities • Providing job portal for alumni • Encouraging giving back by alumni
o Donations, lectures, sponsorships, mentoring, internships, placement • Holding alumni reunions • Recognizing exceptional alumni through awards • Forming international chapters • Forming national chapters

This website, which is in use from October 2016, will be succeeded by a website and app created by our own alumni. ALUMNI NEWSLETTER
The alumni newsletter, Reflections, is published bimonthly from December 2016. It covers events in the Institute, achievements of alumni and contributions from alumni. It is posted on the website and social media pages and is also emailed within the Institute.
ALUMNI VISITS TO CAMPUS
Alumni are interested in visiting the campus when they are in Chennai for work or vacation. The Directorate facilitates their visit and hosts them on campus.
HELPING ALUMNI WITH INSTITUTE-RELATED ACTIVITIES
Many alumni who apply for higher studies need transcripts from the Institute and approach the Directorate, which facilitates this by pointing them to the right office.
JOB PORTAL
A job portal is maintained in the website where alumni can view available jobs in leading companies. They can also find out which other alumni are working in these companies and get referrals through them. Alumni also send job descriptions by email and these are forwarded appropriately.
GIVING BACK
Alumni are encouraged to give back to the Institute through various means.
Alumni meet with students and talk on various topics.
They provide jobs in their companies to students and other alumni.
(a) They provide internships to students. (b) They donate books to the Institute library. (c) They provide sponsorships to students. (d) They mentor students and younger alumni.

Collaborative centre
Clockwork Interviews Private Limited was founded by SRM alumni Mr. Jayadev Mahalingam (2004-Mech). It has established “Big Data Analytics Research Centre (BDARC)” in collaboration with SRM, to promote the faculty members and students for the advancement of teaching, research and graduate education.
ALUMNI REUNIONS
There are three ways in which the Directorate facilitates alumni reunions:
(1) Special reunions (2) Reunion by Batch (3) Reunion By Department
Reunions by batch and reunions by department are regularly held at the Institute. A special reunion was held in 2010 to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Institute. Another special reunion is the Alumni Day started in 2017 and planned as an annual event. All alumni are invited to the Alumni Day.

Silver Jubilee Alumni Reunion on 6th June 2010
Silver jubilee of the Institute was celebrated in a grand function on 6th June 2010 at the SRM Campus. The Chancellor presided over the function. He presented the Outstanding
Alumni Awards to 25 Alumni who were selected by a committee.
Alumni Day
SRM Institute of Science and Technology conducted the Alumni Day on 12th March 2017. The meeting was presided over by the Chancellor Dr. Paarivendhar. Four alumni were presented the Notable Commendation Awards in recognition of their achievements. The cover of the book Digital First co-written by Mr. AMS Pandian, an SRM alumnus, was also released by the Chancellor. Open House exhibits were arranged by various departments throughout the Institute for the alumni to highlight the achievements of the students and faculty.
