DDSim simulates the activities required to drill directional

wells, including horizontal wells. A selection of BHA’s are

available and the software contains behaviour models for

each which have realistic relationships between weight on

bit, circulation, toolface, penetration rate, reactive torque and

dogleg severity.

A simple profile plot is kept up to date with the as-drilled well

path plotted against the well plan.

Animated graphics and fully interactive operator controls

allow real time control over all relevant parameters

Functions Available:

• Rotary RPM

• Brake handle – WOB indicator

• Drawworks clutch

• Mud pumps

• Calculated survey including North, East and TVD.

• Long survey with simulated Gx, Gy, Gz, Bx, By and Bz which

is useful for training students in MWD QC, short collar

corrections, Multi Station Analysis etc.

• Magnetic range

Dynamic plots show progress against plan
