POLICY ON RE-TESTSPOLICY ON RE-TESTS• Students are currently required to gain at
least a grade 3 at HL or 2 at SL in course tests
• In 2015-16 this criteria is tightening up to:
• Grade 4 at HL and grade 3 at SL
• Those failing to make the grade must take a re-test at the earliest opportunity
• Students failing to make the grade will have their progress put under review
PREDICTED GRADESPREDICTED GRADES
• UCAS predictions are needed in October (Oxbridge) or January ( all the rest).
• These predictions are based on test results in Y1 and Y2 tests
• Finnish university predictions are needed in April.
• These predictions are based on results in the mocks + internal assessments
Each subject has grading scale 1 – 7
7 High quality work with insight and originality
8 High quality work with occasional insight and..
5 Solid overall performance
4 Fair general performance
3 Limited achievement
2 Very limited achievement
1 Minimal achievement
IB DIPLOMAIB DIPLOMA
• Maximum of 42 subject points available
• EE and TOK combined are worth 3 points
• Diploma calculated out of 45 points
• Threshold to pass = 24 points
• Above average diploma = 30+
• “Good universities” require 35+
IB DIPLOMAIB DIPLOMA
• At least grade 2 in every SL subject
• At least grade 3 at HL
• At least 24 points overall
• At least grade D in both EE and TOK
• Completion of the CAS programme
• (Submission of all assessed items)
POLICY ON DEADLINESPOLICY ON DEADLINESStudents who miss a deadline for the
internally assessed work will:
• Speak with the coordinator about the problem
• Sign a declaration to the effect that in the event of further deadlines being missed the work will NOT be forwarded to IB for assessment
• Counter-signed by parents for those <18
