Teaching Methods This program is delivered in a classroombased environment and also thesimulated work place environment ifapplicable. The delivery may include faceto face teaching, lectures, discussions,workshop activities, field trips, research;Computer based tasks, home basedlearning activities group works,supervised practical sessions.

AssessmentAssessments may comprise of writtenassignments and project works.Assessments may also includeobservations, portfolio of evidence, thirdpart reports and work place projects.

Admission Requirements andPrerequisiteApplicants must be at least 18 years or over.

Academic Requirements

To gain entry to this course, participants should havesuccessfully completed year 12 or secondary studies inapplicants home country equivalent to an Australian Year12 or Cert IV qualification.

Mature age students will also be considered withoutminimum education requirement but with relevant workexperience within chosen area of study and ademonstrated capacity to meet course requirements.Candidates are advised to submit relevant workexperience evidenced by work reference letter oncompany letterhead; work samples; and curriculum vitae.

Entry Advice:

1 Be recognised as competent, through a recognisedtraining program or recognition process, against thefollowing core units of competency from CHC40708Certificate IV in Community Services Work:- CHCCS411A Work effectively in the

community sector- HLTHIR403B Work effectively with culturally

diverse clients and co-workersOR

2 Have sufficient relevant experience and knowledge ofcommunity work and/or community services to indicatelikely success at this level of qualification in a job roleinvolving:- The application of knowledge with depth in some

areas and demonstration of a broad range of technical and other skills.

- A wide range of tasks and roles in a variety of contexts, with complexity in the range and choices of actions required and including work with culturally diverse clients and co-workers.

- The exercise of discretionary judgement and decision making under general guidance.

English Language Requirements

An English Language proficiency level of one of thefollowing:

- IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent internationallyrecognised exam result in line with DIAC regulations;

- Satisfactory completion of the ESL Course / Englishlanguage course or Satisfactory completion of 5-10weeks ELICOS from a National ELT AccreditationScheme (NEAS) Accredited English Institution with anIELTS score of 5.0
