GOVERNORS CORNER: Hello– A Merry Christmas to Moose Members and your fami-

lies from the Officers and staff of Santa Maria Lodge. This will be the end of 2019 and

the start of 2020, so the Lodge will be having our New Years Eve Party, so don’t forget

to get your tickets early and also let your guests know, see the announcement in this

newsletter article for more details on tickets and the menu. Entertainment will be (by

popular request) Cervantes!!!

Congratulations to Trustee Joe Arguijo Santa Maria Lodge 719 - 2019 Moose of the

Year for his service and volunteering whenever needed.

I would like to thank the officers of our lodge for their support and help in keeping the

lodge running on a day to day basis. Also big thanks to Jim Guggia for keeping our

finances in order. It is members like him that we appreciate for volunteering his time

and dedication on a daily basis throughout the year. Also the board also thanks Millie

and Jim Gregory for their continuing help throughout the year; their dedication and

loyalty is what the Moose is all about. Plus I want to thank all of you who have dedi-

cated their time in volunteering at the Lodge, also a big thanks to our Lodge bartend-

ers for their dedication and service to our customers. I appreciate it very much.

The board of officers says thank you to every member that has given their time to

prepare and serve food on our dinner nights and the members that just help out in so

many different ways.

As you make out your New Year’s Resolution; add this – “I will participate in support

of the Moose Lodge!” We are always looking for Volunteers to help at the lodge: Do

you have a talent in preparing meals - sponsor a dinner during the week (preparation

and serving), volunteer to set up some member or youth activities: (i.e. pool tourna-

ment, corn hole, etc.). If you are that member with special talents or ideas, leave your

name and number (or attend a meeting) at the Lodge, We could always use your help

as a volunteer!!

We wish also to thank the members that support our lodge by attending social events

throughout the year, its members like you that keep our lodge thriving and sustain-

able, we appreciate your patronage. During December, there will be family activities

celebrating Christmas (Christmas parties) with your friend and your family.

Another way you are supporting the Moose (Mooseheart and Moosehaven) is by re-

newing your membership and also recruiting new members (there is still an incentive

for new membership). Remember your membership is your key to participating in

Lodge functions and the use of the lounge. The Lodge and Chapter ask you to con-

tinue your membership.

Members, please be safe during the holidays. Enjoy the holidays with your family and

make the Moose lodge a place to enjoy companionship.

If you would like to donate (share your Christmas) with our local community, there is

a “Toys for Tots” box at the lodge for you to donate a gift to the children of our com-

munity.

Remember: “It’s about the Children”.

Greetings WOTM:

The holidays are upon us stress is also here. We can only do

what we can do. Remember it's a time for family and friends to

come together and enjoy each other's company. Please take the

time also to think of the children, the old, the sick , the homeless

and how fortunate we really are. Thanksgiving dinner turkey

bowl and bake sale were successful. Thank you for supporting.

District meeting is December 15th in Pismo Beach coming closer

to our lodge January meeting will be in Santa Maria. We were

able to support Veterans Day with a nice ceremony to remember

and thank our veterans. Sarah Cortez/ membership retention

will host the dinner Monday December 2nd at our Santa Maria

Lodge please come out and support us. Kids Christmas party is

December 19th 5 to 8 p.m. don't forget to sign up the kids

WOTM exchange will be second meeting December 17th.

Kitchen will be closed December 22nd through December 30th.

Tickets are available at our lodge for New Year's Eve party

Cervantes will be in charge of the music. Wishing all of you a

happy and healthy Merry Christmas.

CONGRATULATIONS

It is with great pleasure that we announce the 2019 Moose of the Year award

winner Joe Arguijo. During our Loyal Order of Moose General Membership

meeting on Wednesday, November 18, 2019, Joe was presented his Moose of

the Year award by Governor Mike Stadnick in front of a packed membership

meeting. The board wants to thank Joe for all his work over the last few

years. His continued volunteer work has made this lodge a better place. Thank
