The Falcons have two games remaining on the regular season schedule, both at home, and enter Tuesday night tied for first in the NACC standings. Head coach Stacey Brunner-Jones sat down with CUWFalcons.com to talk about her team. Q: When you look at the last week, being on both sides of buzzer-beaters, how do you as a head coach handle the ride of emotion? How do you then keep your team on a level plain of emotion as you want them?A: I think that is the most important thing in sports, is that you can’t get too high and too low, and we saw both extremes last week. We won on a buzzer-beater and lost on a buzzer-beater and it gets to your heart, where you feel great and then horrible. It is my job to make sure this team stays even keel. We have talked about it before and we are just focusing on the next game. We have to learn a lot from the Aurora game, but it is a crucial time of the year and we are preparing for Edge-wood.

Q: Looking at the NACC standings, you are tied or first with Wisconsin Lutheran and there are two games left in the regular season, both at home. How important is it to have these last two games be at home?A: It is great and nice to have your regular routine. My players can go to class and just live in their own dorm rooms and not think about traveling. It will be nice to have a home crowd for these last

two important home games. Edgewood and Con-cordia Chicago are out of the NACC Tournmanet picture, but it gives them a little bit of freedom. I have to make sure my team doesn’t worry about pressure and understand it is just another bas-ketball game. We have to do what we do well and prepare like it is any other game.

Q: How much are you going to rely on your two seniors to keep this team focused?A: A lot, just like we have all year. I just got done with a meeting with them because they want to make sure they are doing and saying the right things. I told them to just trust in yourself and your leadership. It is hard because we have only two seniors who are both starters, but we are a young team. Maddie and Megan just need to be who they are and lead by example and with en-couraging words.

Q: How important is it to participate in the Pink Game and help with the cause because cancer has affected so many people?A: I think it important every year that we do this game and sometimes we get wrapped up in bas-ketball, and worrying about the next game. Some-times to reflect on other things that are important in life is helpful. I am hoping that we do this game justice and promote the awareness of breast can-cer and cancer in general.
