Digital India Workshop for the NSS Volunteers Assam University Campus on 24 th August 2016: National e-governance division an independent division of department of electronics and information technology in association with National Service Scheme(NSS), department of youth affairs has conducted awareness workshop on Digital India in Bipin Chandra Paul Seminar Hall, Assam University on 24 th August 2016 under the coordinatorship of Dr. M. Gangabhushan NSS Coordinator, NSS Cell, AUS. The main objective of the workshop was to connect the Indian Youth with the Digital India products and services and to create a pool of ambassadors/volunteers to spread the vision of Digital India programme among academia and communities. NSS volunteers from 20 colleges (taking 10 students from each college) and there programme officers participated in that programme. The workshop was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. The inaugural programme was attended by register, director of computer centre, director C.D.C of Assam University and managing director of Rosekandy Tea-estate. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath preceided over the inaugural meeting. In presidential address Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath briefed how NSS volunteers can spread the message of Digital India across the country and make successful Digital India mission of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Shri. Indranath Chatterjee from National e governance division (Assam) also attended in this occasion as one of the resource person who conducted sessions on Digital India initiative. Display on Digital India main film, discussion on project and e services in the state, innovative way of spreading Digital India mission were the main part of whole day workshop. The programme ended with distribution of certificate among NSS volunteers. In addition to the various intellectual discussions, the workshop given a scope to the volunteers to participate in the following four contests: (1) Skit Competition, (2) Poster Designing, (3) Quiz about DI products & Idea generation.
