Welcome to Digital Diversity Network’s third annual New York City Conference, Convergence - NYC: Inclusion, Collaboration & Engagement
on behalf of digital diversity network (ddn), welcome to our third annual new York City Conference. Thank you for joining us and being part of a community of diverse thought leaders who are helping to drive the innovation economy.
ddn is a 21st Century, non-profit, professional association launched in october 2012 to provide community, education and resources to advance diversity in the digital media and hi-tech sectors. With a specific emphasis on pipeline expansion, leadership development and ownership, ddn works to ensure that the hi-tech earner/producer economy mirrors the demographics of key consumer/user groups.
since our inception, we have hosted educational conferences, panel discussions and networking events in new York, Los Angeles and silicon valley to provide a platform for diverse working professionals, entrepreneurs, companies and investors—across all business sectors--to share ideas, information and opportunities. We recently hosted a digital Town Hall Meeting to make career development even more accessible; and launched a Talent database to assist sponsoring companies with pipeline development.
our conference theme, Inclusion, Collaboration & Engagement, reflects our mission while addressing current business and consumer trends. Today’s assembly of industry leaders not only reflect the diversity we strive to achieve, but will also help to keep you abreast of the latest global trends and opportunities. Your presence here, today, and your continued support of ddn, clearly demonstrates the demand for the services we provide.
Today’s event would not be possible without the generous support of our co-sponsor and host, bloomberg Lp. Their sustained support of ddn over the past two years has been critical to our success. We also thank the cadre of volunteers who helped to shape today’s program.
ddn would not exist without the visionary and generous support of our Founding partners: The new York Times, Time Warner, Warner bros. entertainment, Inc., and The Walt disney Company; as well as our other corporate sponsors: Comcast nbCUniversal, saatchi & saatchi, and viacom.
We hope that you will leave today’s conference feeling em-powered and inspired. To sustain the momentum, we urge you to also visit our website, www.ddno.
org, and our social media sites to join our member community and maintain the connec-tions you have estab-lished here today.
sincerely,
WElComE
