From Workforce to Crowdsource The borderless enterprise
Picture a workforce that extends beyond
your employees: one that consists of
any user connected to the Internet.
Cloud, social, and collaboration
technologies now allow organizations to
tap into vast pools of resources across
the world, many of whom are motivated
to help.
Given so much collaboration happens
through digital channels, the potential
for almost limitless collaboration with
everyone else who is connected to the
Internet—regardless of whether they
are “our” employee or not.*
Employees
Extended Workforce
29
The borderless enterprise….
Opportunity: Crowdsourcing to determine what should be on the
Wal Mart shelves and on their website
Opportunity: Crowdsourcing assets (cars) offers more transportation
opportunities -> comfort, price, availability
Opportunity: Open innovation and gamification creates the next Lay’s
potato chip flavor. Currently in the running: Chili Cheese
Layer vs. Barbecue Python

What does tomorrow’s workforce look like? Multiple generations and a variety of workplaces!
31
The digital-physical blur and the workplace of the future. We’re not in Kansas anymore…
• Technology is ubiquitous
• Teams will be virtual, global and may never meet in person
• The workforce will be a generational mashup
• Employees will use their own devices to access work…. anywhere
• Individuals will expect to work virtually, but will expect community
• Employees anticipate continuous learning, using a variety of methods
• Naptime?
The walls have
