Digital Citizenship: Digital Etiquette Webquest
Introduction
As you all know we will be working with Googledocs this year so we can share documents digitally. What you may not know is everything you do is left on the internet even if you think it is deleted. This is called your digital footprint. Things you do when you were fifteen may come back to haunt you when you are twenty-five and looking for a job. We are going to explore safe ways to use the internet and learn what is appropriate to post.
On top of researching what is appropriate to post, you will research what sort of digital behavior is appropriate and in what setting. Ex: using your phone in a restaruant.
Your TaskIt is your job to research
digital etiquette. Topics
When and where to use technology
What is “safe” or appropriate to post on personal sites such as Facebook
Professional ways to communicate, i.e. an email to your boss
Appropriate response times for technology: The time frame in which it is considered polite to respond to emails
Criteria
Give at least 10 rules of digital etiquette that you find most important
Find an example of someone getting in trouble in their life or job due to lack of etiquette
Presentations must be completed on Powerpoint
Cite your sources
