PERSONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• Wear complete eye protection andprotective clothing when working nearlead-acid batteries. Always have someonenearby for help.

• Have plenty of fresh water, soap and bakingsoda nearby for use, in case battery acidcontacts your eyes, skin, or clothing. Washimmediately with soap and water and seekmedical attention.

• If battery acid comes in contact with eyes,ush eyes immediately for a minimum 10minutes and get medical attention.

• Neutralize any acid spills thoroughly withbaking soda before attempting to clean up.

• Remove all personal metal items from your

body, such as rings, bracelets, necklacesand watches. A battery can produce a shortcircuit current high enough to weld a ring tometal, causing a severe burn.

• Never smoke or allow a spark or ame inthe vicinity of the battery or engine.

CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERY OF THE PORTABLE POWER

IMPORTANT! CHARGE IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE, AFTER EACH USE AND EVERY 30 DAYS, TO KEEP THEPORTABLE POWER’S INTERNALBATTERY FULLY CHARGED ANDPROLONG BATTERY LIFE.CHECKING THE LEVEL OF THE

INTERNAL BATTERYTo check the internal battery’s chargestatus, Press the Select button until theBattery % LED lights. The Digital Displaywill show the battery’s percent of charge.Charge the internal battery if the displayshows it is under 100%.NOTE: The internal battery’s percent ofcharge is most accurate when the jumpstarter has been disconnected from all

devices and charging sources for a few hours.CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERYCharge the internal battery for the PortablePower using an extension cord (not included).NOTE: Use of an improper extension cordcould result in a risk of re and electric shock.

1. To charge, ip the AC connector onthe back of the unit DOWN and plug in an18 AWG or larger extension cord.

2. Plug the extension cord into a 120VAC

electrical wall outlet.3. While the jump starter is charging, the

marching dashes will show on thedigital display. When the internal batteryis fully charged, the display will showioo.Complete charging may take up to 72 hours.

4. When the internal battery is fully charged,the charger will automatically go intomaintain mode and maintain the battery

at full charge without damaging it. Whenin maintain mode, the Battery % LED willpulse, as long as there is an AC cordconnected to the charging port.

5. Charge the jump starter as soon aspossible after use.

CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERYWHILE DRIVINGYou may also charge the internal batterywhile driving, using a male-to-malecharger cable (part number 94500109 –not included).IMPORTANT: DO NOT CHARGE INTERNALBATTERY FOR MORE THAN 30 MINUTESOR LEAVE THE BATTERY UNATTENDED. ITCOULD EXPLODE, CAUSING PROPERTYDAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY.

1. Make sure the car is running.2. Insert one end of the accessory cable intothe 12V DC power outlet.

3. Insert the other end of the accessorycable into the vehicle’s accessory outlet(lighter socket).

NOTE: The Battery % LED does notoperate during this method of charging.Using this method to charge the batteryoverrides the maintain mode and the batterycan be overcharged.4. Monitor the progress of the charge by

pressing the Select button until theBattery % LED lights. When the battery isfully charged, disconnect the accessorycable from the Portable Power, then fromthe lighter socket of the vehicle.

NOTE: Completely disconnect the chargercable when the engine is not running.

USING THE PORTABLE POWER

DIGITAL DISPLAYTo check the jump starter’s internal batterystatus, push the Select button. The displaywill show the percent of charge of theinternal battery.When connected to the vehicle with the Jump

Start ON/OFF switch in the OFF position, thedisplay shows the vehicle’s battery voltage.When connected and in the ON position, thedisplay shows the equalized voltage betweenthe vehicle’s battery and internal battery.JUMP STARTING A VEHICLEIMPORTANT: Using the Jump Start featurewithout a battery installed in the vehicle willdamage the vehicle’s electrical system.1. Turn the ignition OFF.

2. Lay the DC cables away from anyfan blades, belts, pulleys and othermoving parts.

3. For a negative-ground vehicle (as in mostvehicles), connect the Portable Power’sPOSITIVE (RED) clamp to the POSITIVE(POS, P, +) battery post. Next, connectthe NEGATIVE (BLACK) clamp to thevehicle chassis or engine block, awayfrom the battery.

4. For a positive-ground vehicle, connect the

Portable Power’s NEGATIVE (BLACK)clamp to the NEGATIVE (NEG, N, -)battery post. Next, connect the POSITIVE(RED) clamp to the vehicle chassis orengine block away from the battery.

IMPORTANT: If you have connected theclamps backwards, an audio alarm willsound. DO NOT turn the ON/OFF switch tothe ON position. This could cause seriousdamage to the jump starter or the vehicle.Reverse the connections and the audio

alarm will stop.5. Turn the switch to the ON position.6. Crank the engine for no more than

8 seconds. If the engine does not start,wait 2 minutes before cranking again.

7. After the engine starts, turn the switch tothe OFF position and remove the PortablePower from the battery.

8. Charge the Portable Power.USING THE WORK/EMERGENCY LIGHT

1. Position the jump starter on a at, stablesurface near the intended work area.

2. Ensure that the battery clamps are securelyclipped on the storage holders.

3. Press the light switch once.The jumpstarter light will turn on and illuminateyour work area.

4. Press the light switch again. The lightwill ash.

5. When nished, press the light switch again,to turn off the light.

6. Charge the jump starter as soon aspossible after using the work light.

NOTE: The work/emergency light willautomatically shut off after 24 hours.POWERING A 12V DC DEVICEThe Portable Power is a power source for all12V DC accessories that are equipped with a12V accessory plug. Use it for power outagesand on shing or camping trips. Estimatedusage time is listed in the following chart.NOTE: Do not power a 12V device with thePortable Power while charging the internal

battery.NOTE: Make sure the device to be poweredis OFF before inserting the 12V DC accessoryplug into the 12V DC accessory outlet.1. Ensure that the battery clamps are

securely clipped on the storage holders.2. Open the protective cover of one of the

two DC power outlets on the front of the jump starter.

3. Plug the 12V DC device into the DC power

outlet, and turn the 12V DC device on(if required).

USING THE USB PORTThe USB port provides up to 2.1A at 5V DC.

1. Ensure that the battery clamps aresecurely clipped on the storage holders.

2. Plug the device into one of the two USBports on the front panel.

3. Press the USB port ON/OFF button.

4. Turn on the USB device.5. When you are nished using the USB port,

press the button, to turn off.

6. Charge the jump starter as soon aspossible after using the USB port.

NOTE: To protect your electronic devices,the USB will automatically shut off when theinternal battery’s charge is low.

USING THE AIR COMPRESSOR

WARNING. Read the instructions of theproduct being inated before using thecompressor. Avoid overination; do notexceed the manufacturer’s recommendedpressures. Do not leave the air compressorunattended during use.

1. Remove the air compressor hose from thestorage compartment in the back of the jump starter.

2. Connect the adapter to the valve stemand close the thumb latch. If necessary,

use one of the additional adapters.3. Press the Select button, and choose

Compressor .4. To select the desired PSI, press

then press ON/OFF.5. When the desired pressure is reached,

the compressor will turn off. Open thethumb latch and remove the connectorfrom the valve stem.

6. Do not run for more than 10 minutes at a

time. Allow the jump starter to cool downfor 10 minutes before using again.

7. Wrap the compressor hose around thecleats when it is not being used.

8. Allow unit to cool.9. Recharge the unit before storing.NOTE: To prevent overheating, thecompressor has built-in thermal protectionthat will turn the compressor off before itoverheats. If the compressor shuts off, wait

a few minutes and it will automaticallyrestart when the compressor cools.NOTE: The air compressor is rated for100 PSI maximum.

USING THE INVERTERIt is important to know the continuous wattageof the device you plan to use with the inverter.The Portable Power must be used withdevices drawing 400 watts or less. If thewattage is not marked on the device, useonly devices that draw less than 3.3 amps of AC current.

Devices like TVs, fans or electric motorsrequire additional power to start (commonly

known as the “starting or peak power”). ThePortable Power can supply a momentarysurge in wattage; however even devicesrated less than the maximum 400 watts canexceed the inverter’s surge capability andcause an automatic overload shutdown.

Do not use the inverter with a product thatdraws a higher wattage than the inverter canprovide, as this may cause damage to theinverter and the product.

Make sure the device you are using iscompatible with a modied sine wave inverter.

CAUTION: Always run a test to establishwhether the inverter will operate a particularpiece of equipment or device.

In the event of a power overload, the inverteris designed to automatically shut down. Thissafety feature prevents damaging theinverter while testing devices and equipmentwith the 400-watt range.

If powering more than one device, start onedevice at a time to avoid a power surgeand/or inverter overload. The surge load ofeach device should not exceed the inverter’sContinuous Operation wattage rate.

IMPORTANT: If you are using the powerinverter to operate any type of batterycharger, monitor the temperature of thebattery charger for about 10 minutes. Ifthe battery charger becomes abnormallywarm, disconnect it from the inverter

immediately.You can use an extension cord from theinverter to the device without signicantlydecreasing the power being generated bythe inverter. For best operating results, theextension cord should be 16 AWG (1.31 mm2)or larger and no longer than 50 feet.

IMPORTANT: This inverter uses a modiedsine waveform, which is not quite the sameas power company electricity. For thefollowing devices, we strongly recommendthat you use caution and check the device’smanual to make sure it is compatible withmodied sine waveform.

POWERING A 110V AC DEVICE

1. Ensure the battery clips are securely onthe storage holders.

2. Open the protective cover of the ACpower outlet on the front panel of thePortable Power.

3. Make sure the 110V AC device to beoperated is turned OFF.

4. Plug the 110V AC device into the ACpower outlet and press the Select button,to choose AC Inverter .

5. Turn the device on.

6. Charge the Instant Power as soon aspossible after each use.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. Incorrect operation of your inverter mayresult in damage and personal injury. The

inverter output is 110V AC and can shockor electrocute the same as any ordinaryhousehold AC wall outlet.NOTE: The maximum continuous load is400 watts. Do not use the inverter with aproduct that draws more than 400 watts, asthis may cause damage to the inverter andthe product. AN

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

• Clean the clamps and the case each timeyou are nished using it.

• Recharge the unit once a month when notin use.

• Store clamps on their support posts, toensure they do not come into contact withany metallic surface.

• Never completely discharge the internalbattery.

CARGA DE LA BATERÍA INTERNA DE LA ENERGÍA PORTÁTIL

PORTÁTIL COMPLETAMENTE CARGADAY PROLONGARÁ SU VIDA ÚTIL.COMPROBACIÓN DEL NIVEL DE CARGADE LA BATERÍA INTERNA

Para comprobar el estado de carga de labatería interna, pulse el botón Select hastaque la Battery % LED luces. La pantalladigital mostrará por ciento de la carga de labatería. Cargue la batería interna si lapantalla indica que es menos de 100%.

NOTA: El por ciento de carga de la bateríainterna es más precisa cuando el motor dearranque salto ha sido desconectado detodos los dispositivos y las fuentes de cargapara un par de horas.LA CARGA DE LA BATERÍA INTERNAPara cargar la batería interna de la energíaportátil, utilice un cable de extensión (noincluido).NOTA: Al utilizar una extensión inadecuada,

CÓMO UTILIZAR LA ENERGÍA PORTÁTIL

PANTALLA DIGITALPara comprobar el estado de la bateríainterna de la energía portátil, pulse el botónSelect. La pantalla muestra el porcentajede carga de la batería interna.Cuando se conecta al vehículo con el JumpStart interruptor en la posición ON / OFF, lapantalla muestra el voltaje de la batería del

vehículo. Cuando se conecta y en laposición ON, la pantalla muestra el voltajeigualado entre la batería del vehículo y labatería interna.PARA ARRANCAR EL MOTORDEL VEHĺCULOIMPORTANTE: Utilización de la funciónarranque del motor sin una batería instaladaen el vehículo dañará el sistema eléctricodel vehículo.

1. APAGUE el motor.2. Ponga los cables de CD lejos de lasaspas del ventilador, bandas, poleas uotras partes móviles.

3. En los vehículos con carga negativaa tierra (como en la mayoría de losvehículos), conecte la pinza con el poloPOSITIVO (ROJO) de la energía portátilal borne POSITIVO (POS, P, +) de labatería. A continuación, conecte la pinzacon el polo NEGATIVO (NEGRO) alchasis del vehículo o al bloque del motor,lejos de la batería.
