The highlight is to expose students to various types of proven industrial single stage dies. Students are also taught the design techniques for sheet metal product, strip layout, plan of lower die, plan of upper die, sectioning views and press machine used for stamping processes as well as practice the application of press operation with dies testing or trial. COURSE OBJECTIVES At the completion of this course, participants will be able to: • Explain and recognize the stages and steps involved in single and compound die design. • Calculate the parameters involves in die designing such as cutting forces, selection of spring, bending data and formula, and material thickness. • Define the design alternatives • Design and produce simple product, metal strip blank and strip layout for single and compound die. • Practice the application of press operation with dies testing or trial THE UNIQUENESS OF THIS COURSE • The training approach is different to attract class participation during lectures. • Experienced trainers in the field of plastics and processing industry. WHO SHOULD ATTEND Target Group: Product designers, Design engineers, Tooling engineers, Supervisors and technicians. KEY TOPICS • Introduction • Stages in Blanking, Piercing and Compound Die Design • Product Design • Blank Size design • Strip Layout Design • Die Design • Testing the press tool METHODOLOGY Consist of theory contents, lessons delivery is via lectures, discussions.
