Easy as 1-2-3D

Wednesday, May 1—Tuesday, May 14 @ Main Branch

Need a 3D printing job done? Let your library help you out! Between May 1 and 14, patrons may submit a USB drive with an

STL file of a 3D item, and we will print the item with the 3D printer we currently have on loan from the

Superiorland Library Cooperative. All print jobs require prior approval and must follow library policy.

Cost is $1 per gram of filament used. If you don’t have a particular 3D item in mind, we will have a list of possible items

available for you to choose from. You will be asked to fill out a form with pertinent information

when you drop off your USB drive at the circulation desk. Please contact the Main Branch at 906-774-1218

with any questions.

Bow Wows and Books

Monday, May 6, 6-7:30 PM @ Main Branch

Kids of all ages can practice their literacy skills in a fun and

accepting environment by reading to friendly canines at this popular monthly program! Therapy dogs

Thor, an English Mastiff, and Clara, a Yorkshire Terrier, are your partners in this reading

adventure. Please sign up at the circulation desk or call the Main

Branch at 906-774-1218 to reserve a 10-minute time slot with

either or both dogs!

Tea with Me

Saturday, May 11, 1-2 PM @ Main Branch

Kids of all ages and their parents are invited to a tea party storytime at the library! We will read “Tea Rex” by Molly Idle, decorate cookies, and do crafts. Required registration opens Monday, April 29. Attendance is capped at 20 children, but a waitlist

Lego Challenge

Legos aren’t just for kids; they can provide a fun and educational

pastime for all ages! In this program for high-schoolers and adults, par ticipants will receive a challenge card to make a Lego

Odyssey Seekers Club: The Wonder of Your Birthstone

Sherri Erickson from Erickson Jewelers will present fascinating information about birthstones at this program for kids in grade 3 and up and adults! She also will show how customized

pieces are made from wax molds and sketches.

Look Up to the Stars

Thursday, May 23, 7-9 PM @ Main Branch

Meet Kevin Manning, an astronomer who worked as a NASA consultant! He

will teach kids in grade 2 and up and adults about the moon, planets, and stars, and allow them to observe these celestial objects through high-powered

telescopes. This will provide a great introduction to this year’s Summer

Reading theme: A Universe of Stories! Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Racing to Summer

Meet Kim Darst of Husky Haven Kennels and a sled dog! Kim will talk about the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, including preparation, the trail itself, and a book written about her Iditarod journey called “Cotton’s Tale.” Copies of the

book will be available for purchase. For all ages! Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
