ESCOR GAZTEDI MIXED ABILITY RUGBY TEAM

The project started and developed in collaboration with Down

Araba Isabel Orbe Association

We encourage Social and Sporting Inclusion for people with

Disabilities.

The Mixed Ability Rugby team is composed of more than 45

people with and without disability.

The activities include:

Sport aspects (training and matches)

Social aspects. This one is essential for people´s Inclusion

Gaztedi Rugby Team has:

Been awarded with The Spirit of Mixed Ability Trophy in the first Mixed Ability Rugby World Tournament MARWT 2015. Award

that recognises Rugby and Inclusion values.

Highly Commended in the Álava´s Sport Ceremony in 2015

Been one of the promoters and member of the Mixed Ability Rugby Clubs Network

Hosted and taken part in the first and second State Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament

Objectives

Raise awareness and the encourage the participation of different abilities through

social inclusion, equal opportunities and healthy lifestyle.

Create new synergies between sport clubs, educational providers, communities and

local organisations.

Promote and spread Rugby values: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and

sportmanship.

Contribute to a new sustainable model in which National and International Mixed

Ability Sport events will become a new reality.

Make this world a better place through Sport, Rugby and Education.

participants per delegation; we expect:

During the course of IMART 2017 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, World Rugby Laws will be

the only ones to be followed with the exception of uncontested scums.

The tournament will be refereed by national and international match

officials with a wide experience in high level competitions.

Calendar

IMART 2017 will be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz between 21-25August 2017.

The official matches are expected to be played on Tuesday 22, Thursday

24 and Friday 25.

Wednesday 23 will be a day focused on the Educational area and the

promotion of other sports and tourism within the Region.

On Monday 21, Tuesday 22, Thursday 24 and Friday 25 there will be

arranged meetings and workshops for anyone who might be interested in.

In order to hold formative seminars and educational activities, IMART 2017 in

Vitoria-Gasteiz will have the following centres

Meeting Point

With the aim of involving Vitoria-Gasteiz citizens and share with them the spirit of

IMART 2017, the Organization will place two Fan Zones in the following places:

Fueros Square

The Meeting Points will welcome all the participants and visitors of IMART 2017.

Also the City Centre of Vitoria-Gasteiz, with its wonderful and lively streets, will

welcome you on daily activities and on the opening and closing ceremonies.

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

The IMART 2017´s Organisation is based on a project created by the Gaztedi Rugby Team.

With the purpose of creating and developing that project, it has been created the World Rugby Tournament 2017 Association.

Vitoria-Gasteiz, which will be responsible for the coordination and management of the whole project.

We will also have the close support of local and provincial authorities, of Rugby Federations and of the whole team of volunteers of

Gaztedi Rugby Team.

Volunteer Staff

Most of the volunteer staff to meet the requirements of the tournament, will be provided by the organising club

(Gaztedi Rugby Team). However, we will recruit also external volunteers. It is expected to be needed 115 people each

day.

All the medical needs arising within the event will be coordinated by Gaztedi Rugby Team´s medical staff, who will be

the headquarters of IMART 2017 during the month of August 2017.

each one with its own internationally known capital city: Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz. The distance between these

It's not necessary any vaccine to enter to the country. Please bring along your European Health Insurance Card which might be needed.

The temperature is moderate throughout the year, with regular rains during spring and autumn, some snowfalls in winter and not
