The last day for students will be May 23, 2018. As you begin to consider summer plans, I encourage you to make a few memories with your child/ren this summer. A memory does not have to be an expensive trip or experience, instead consider alternatives-perhaps a lemonade stand, a solar oven made from a cardboard box, a chalk mural, a nature walk/scavenger hunt, or a bicycle ride. I have thoroughly enjoyed SY 17/18. The year gives me fond memories from Kiss-n-Ride, Prize Patrol, Movie Night, Math Night, Field Day, etc. Although I will return to as the Instructional Systems Specialist for the South Carolina/Fort Stewart Community in the near future and will no longer serve as the intern prin- cipal for Diamond Elementary School, I will continue to make routine Gatorvisits during SY 18/19. As Dr. Seuss wrote, Sometimes You Never Know the Value a Moment Until it Become a Memory.Lastly, I also want to close out the year by saying thank you to all of our fabulous volunteers during the SY 17/18. The DES PTO has been especially kind in their support for staff and students. Your support makes a much stronger Diamond Elementary School. We appreciate all you do and look forward to working with all our parents next school year. As always, we thank you for your continued support. Diamond Gators Rock!!! Principal’s Message

School is almost out!!!

Although I will return to as the Instructional Systems Specialist for the South Carolina/Fort Stewart Community in the near future and will no longer serve as the intern prin-cipal for Diamond Elementary School, I will continue to make routine “Gator” visits during SY 18/19. As Dr. Seuss wrote, “Sometimes You Never Know the Value a Moment Until it Become a Memory.”

Lastly, I also want to close out the year by saying thank you to all of our fabulous volunteers during the SY 17/18. The DES PTO has been especially kind in their support for staff and students. Your support makes a much stronger Diamond Elementary School. We appreciate all you do and look forward to working with all our parents next school year.

As always, we thank you for your continued support. Diamond Gators Rock!!!

Sincerely,

Greetings, Gator Family! Book Return: The Diamond Library has closed book circulation as of May 4, 2018. Please look around your home and in your classroom for library books and return them to the library! Summer Reading: Now that you have made lots of progress during the school year, we want you to stay on top of your game over the summer break. HOW? JUST READ!!! We encourage you to “make time” for summer reading!
