Optional state of the art rod handling system for optimum safety and productivity

Unique positioning design including a 360° turn table enables fast and accurate rig set up, especially in confined spaces

The gas spring rod holder opens hydraulically and closes with gas pressure for increased safety. In case of loss of hydraulic pressure, the rod holder closes instantly.

All drilling functions, including the rod handling, are easily performed from the remote light weight control panel.

A two-hand activation controller ensures safe operations of the rod handler

Rotation unit comes with sealed gear box, thus lowering operational costs especially for up-hole drilling.

upon your requirements. Two different feed frames enable drilling in confined spaces as well as drilling deep holes. Two rotation

units offer a wide range of dimensions for various drilling conditions. Various carrier options available as well.

+ ERGONOMICS AND SAFETYDiamec Smart 6 can be equipped with a state of the art rod handling system that relieves the operator and many of the hazardous operations in the drilling process, such as handling of the inner tube. All drilling operations are performed from a safe distance with an easy to use control panel, and the two-hand controller used for acknowledging

the rod handler operations, further improves safety.

+ PRODUCTIVITY AND LOWER OPERATIONAL COSTSDiamec Smart 6 has an advanced Rig Control System allowing it to be operated automatically. From the touch screen on the remote control panel, drilling parameters are easily set and the monitored. The automatic feature, including constant penetration rate, can improve bit life up to 400% compared to manual drilling. It also reduces risk for core blockage and hole deviation, which minimizes risk of drilling errors and operator fatigue.

CONTROL SYSTEM AND INTERFACE

Rod handling system: Rod handling system fully integrated with the rig control system for improved safety and productivity. (Not available for the Diamec MCR version)

Bracing device: Device suitable for use in narrow tunnels and drifts. It allows simple anchoring of the feed frame between the floor and roof/wall of the gallery, drift or tunnel.

Wheel kits: For easy repositioning of both rig and power unit.

Wireline sheave: For steep up hole drilling.

Air/Oil cooler: Air cooled heat exchanger for cooling of the hydraulic oil. If water supply is limited, it is possible to perform rod tripping, wire line operation and even drilling up to an ambient temperature of approx.. +30°C without water cooling.

Water collector: The water collector seals against the rock face and allows collection of flush water and cuttings.

Casing clamp: The casing clamp is used to align the feed frame to the casing tube.

Extra feed extension: With the optional 5 m feed extension tubes, the total length of the feed frame can be increased to 7,5 m. (Standard length 3,5–4,5 m.)

Keyhole wall bracket: Bracket for anchoring the rig to the wall while drilling up-hole. Available for both A-N and B-H size.
