INTRODUCTION

DTMF Mobile ROBO is a machine that can be controlled with a mobile . In this project, the robot is controlled by a mobile phone that makes a call to the mobile phone attached to the robot.

if any button is pressed, a tone corresponding to the button pressed is heard at the other end of the call. This tone is called "Dual Tone Multiple-Frequency" (DTMF) tone.

ABOUT DTMF TONE

DTMF uses a combination of two (one low frequency and one high frequency) tones to identify the dialled number or a signal. Eight such frequencies are assigned to the four rows and four columns of a typical push-button type dial (keypad).

This method for control using the DTMF tone generated when the user pushes mobile phone keypad buttons or when connected to a remote mobile system.

OPERATION

Receiving a set of command in the form of DTMF tones and performs the necessary actions.

We will be using a dedicated modem/mobile at the receiver module. It send the commands using DTMF tones as per the required actions.

DTMF decoder takes the responsibility of decoding the tones received and perform the corresponding predefined tasks such as move front or back, left or right etc.

The micro controller is pre-programmed and also interfaced with few DC motors in order to move the robot in different directions.

In the present project DTMF technology has been used to control the stepper motor at a desired direction which in turn may be used in deferent application areas. As conventional RF wireless system has distance limitation. But in this project working range as large as the coverage area of the service provider. The system developed in this project is very much simple and cost effective. It provides the advantage of robust control.
