In 2016, SCCC celebrated 50 years of

providing essential services for the

broader Los Angeles community. We

were pleased that so many of you could

join us to mark this significant landmark

in our history.

Our Gala last April at the Petersen

Automotive Museum offered us all a

great opportunity to reconnect, meet new people and

celebrate what SCCC brings to our lives and the lives of

so many others. The generous spirit of everyone who

contributed to making that event such a success says so

much about the nature of the

Counseling Center as a whole.

For as much as we tend to the

needs of those who are strug-

gling, we also create an

environment that nurtures and

strengthens each and every one

of us, regardless of our role.

I can personally attest to the

value of my experiences at

the Counseling Center since

arriving in 1996. I believe our

counselors, supervisors, staff and many of our donors

would say that being a part of SCCC has been deeply

meaningful. For each of us, that path looks different but

nonetheless offers ways of seeing the world that would be

hard to achieve any other way.

Thanks to all of you, our donors, volunteers and staff

are able to be here each day throughout the year, offering

effective ways to deal with the many mental health issues

and needs that can challenge even the best of us. The way

we see it, your generosity makes the help and guidance we

provide accessible, affordable and often life-changing for

so many adults, children and youth who come through our

doors each week.

So as we look ahead, we gratefully acknowledge

your support, your investment and your belief in our

efforts as we work toward making mental health care a

right, not a privilege in Los Angeles.

Our mission: SCCC changes lives and strengthens communities by providing affordable mental health care to people in need.
