Mentoring MinuteDHS-CIS Mentoring Program

A word from our Mentor Coordinator!

I am Steffi Holmes, the new Mentor Coordinator at Dover High School and

Fairview Elementary School. I serve through Connecting Generations and

AmeriCorps and I am very excited to be a part of the school community from

now until next October. I am working very hard to get our mentoring program

up and running again this year, and I am always looking for more mentors and

volunteers. Did you know that anyone with the time and desire to positively

impact a youth in the community would make a good mentor? That meansstaff, teachers, parents, and even high school students can all get more involved

in the community by spending one-on-one time with a child for a minimum of

30 minutes once a week. It doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but it always makes

an impact on both the mentor and mentee. Please contact Ms. Holmes if you

have any questions, are interested in becoming a mentor at Dover High

or Fairview, or just want to say “hi.” Office hours are posted in the Green

Office, and you can always send an email to: [email protected]
