    Tis The Season!Gift Giving

Tis the season for gift giving! Fairview Elementary and DHSCommunities In Schools teamed up to make Christmas extra special

for fourteen "Superior Citizens" from each grade at Fairview. The

teachers from each classroom selected students who demonstrated all

the positive qualities of respectful citizens within the Fairview

community, and allowed them to participate in this fun-filled event.

Two days before Christmas vacation, the DHS students wrapped and

labeled gifts for Fairview students, and walked over to the school as a

group. In the cafeteria, Ms. Holmes and the Superior Citizens waited

for the big kids to come so that they could chat, color Christmas tree

pictures, enjoy cookies and cider, and play with their new gifts.

Corrine G., a DHS student said, "I really liked those little kids at

Fairview. They were so cute, and I had a really good time coloring

with them and talking to them." It sounds like the gifts didn't just

come as wrapped presents- they came as the memories everyone will

    keep in their hearts.
