PROTOTYPE ASSEMBLY

• Expect to receive chassis and manifolds by the end of January

• Assemble prototype, without heat shields• If assembly is OK, order heat shields• Order TEC’s, and TEC mounts• Test air flow and heating and cooling

through February• Install TEC’s and heat shields

12

Why PIVOTS ?

• Allow some FLEXIBILITY to avoid possible obstructions, for extraction or insertion of front modules or transition cards.

• PIVOTS allow either end to be angled out, and are locked in position for SAFE access.

• Little extra $$ for a lot of SAFETY!

• Final design is on hold until mounting method and position is OK’ed by FNAL

DESIGN DETAILS

• Our design resides in much detail at our UIUC website at CLICK HERE or copy and paste:

• web.hep.uiuc.edu/Engin/DES/DHE_10_Crate/DHE_10_Crate.html

• The best way to see the design is to download the free DWF Viewer.

• You can then rotate, zoom in/out, hide parts in assemblies so you can see the insides, and print any view you like.

• Else, you’re stuck with the 2D PDF views.
