You should be ready to start browsing the Web!

If you still cant browse the Web:

Win 95 and 98 sometimes do not release the old IP number even after restarting.

Go to the Start Menu and select Run. Type winipcfg and click on OK. The following window should

appear. If the IP configuration window displays an IP address that starts with

10.20.x..x , the Internet should be OK. If the addresses are wrong or missing, click on Release and then

Renew. Restart and check to see if an IP address now appears. If a 10.20.x..x

address still doesnt appear, please contact IT Services at (562) 907-4287 for assistance.

If your computer does not have TCP/IP in the Network Control Panel do the following:

Click on the Cancel button to go back to the main Network Control Panel. Click on the Add button. On the next window, double click on Protocol.

Select Microsoft from the Manufactures column and TCP/IP from the Network Protocols column; then click on OK.

The computer will ask you insert the Window 95 or 98 CD or disks to install the protocol.

After the installation you will have to Restart your computer. Go back to the top of this guide and complete the remaining

steps. Please contact IT Services at (562) 907-4287 for assistance.
