Step by Step procedures on how configure the LP-8186, LP-8186c, LP-8616, LP-8686, LP-8696 and LP-9386 router on DHCP connection (PLDT, GLOBE, DIGITEL, SMARTBRO, WIMAX, WI-TRIBE and all Cable Internet)

Set the Wiring Connection: MODEM - ROUTER - COMPUTER (desktop or laptop)

After connect all cable to the router, get your MAC Address

Click start and control panel

Select Switch to Category View on the left control panel and double click Network Connections

right click on the Local Area Connection and select Status

click Support and click Details

now copy the Physical Address value this is your computer MAC address

Now open internet browser it could be your windows default (Internet Explorer), Mozilla Firefox, Opera,

Netscape Navigator, Maxton, or Safari for windows. On the browser’s URL or Address bar, type the default IP address of the router which is 192.168.1.254, and then press the “enter key”.

On the left site under Site contents click “TCP/IP Settings” and click on WAN Interface. 1. Select DHCP Client on WAN Access Type 2. Select Attain DNS Automatically 3. Fill your MAC address in the Clone MAC Address without dashes (capital or small letter is accepted) 4. Check all Enable box under of Clone MAC Address 5. click Apply Changes and wait for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize

Under Site content left menu click Wireless and click basic settings 1. In SSID you can change the default name, this is your WI-FI/Wireless router name 2. click Apply Changes and wait for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize

Now click Security under of wireless on the left side menu 1. In the Encryption select WPA 2. In “Pre-Shared Key” you can type any “PASSWORD” you want for your wireless router 3. click Apply Changes and wait for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize

Note: you can choose whatever type of Encryption you want to use. In this sample WPA was used. You can fill any word (letters and Numbers) that you want with this field, Just Remember the word you filled in this field, because this will serve as the password for your wireless connection. WEP ASCII – 5 character or 5 numbers only will be accepted WPA, WPA2 and WPA MIX – minimum of 8 Characters, Numbers and even Combination will be accepted

Now click TCP/IP Settings and click the “LAN Interface” 1. On the IP Address change the default IP Address “192.168.1.254” to “192.168.10.254” 2. Also change the DHCP Client Range 1

st box “192.168.10.1” and 2

nd box “192.168.10.253”

3. Click Apply Changes and wait for 15 seconds for the router to restart and initialize

Note: On the browser’s URL or Address bar, type the new IP address of the router which is 192.168.10.254, and

then press the “enter key”.

Now click on the Management and click on “Status”, to check if your WAN Configuration has an IP address and that you are already connected to the internet. Shown below:
