Swimming Courses for DGS Aquatics Club organised by Dali Swimming Club

General Information

1. Only registered members of 2016-2017 DGS Aquatics Club are entitled to enroll in the swimming courses. To register for 2016-2017 DGS Aquatics Club membership, please download the relevant form from the School’s website at www.dgs.edu.hk/AquaticsClub.

2. Please note that this enrollment is made directly with Dali Swimming Club (DLS) and neither the DGS Aquatics Club nor the School (DGS or DGJS) is responsible for any matter arising from such an enrollment.

3. Confirmation of Enrollment: Courses are deemed confirmed once enrolled and students should attend the courses according to their selected time slot. DLS will contact students only if alternative arrangements are required.

4. Instructor-Pupil Ratio, Maximum Enrollment per Course and Course Content: Level Ratio Content

Beginner 1 to 4-6 Freestyle and Backstroke

Stroke Improvement

1 to 4-6 Improvement of Freestyle and Backstroke as well as teaching of Breaststroke and Butterfly (if appropriate)

Competition Technique

1 to 15 Theories and practice of competition techniques to include start, turn, sprint and finish of Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly

Private Lesson 1 to 1-3 To be agreed with DLS

Stroke Improvement courses are for those who are able to swim at least 50m in freestyle. Competition Technique Courses are for those who are able to swim at least 100m in freestyle,

50m in Breaststroke and Backstroke respectively. Courses with less than 3 applicants will be cancelled. Enrollment will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may enroll for more than one course of the same level. Students should arrive at the entrance of the swimming pool 10 minutes before the

commencement of the course.

5. Programme arrangement: All courses will be instructed by qualified coaches of DLS. Competition Technique courses will be instructed by Mr. Wang Dali, Head Coach of DLS:- Coach of Hong Kong Junior National Squad (1996-2000)

For Private lessons, parents may select a preferred coach from DLS subject to availability.

8. Make-up class arrangement

Only two make-up classes due to sickness would be arranged if a doctor’s certificate dated within 2 days from the date of absence to be submitted to DLS. Such make-up classes could only be arranged within the same course period (e.g. Apr to May 2017).

9. Progress Report: A progress report will be distributed to the students by DLS at the end of each course.

10. Weather condition: The course follows the guidelines laid down by the Education Bureau with regards to school closure due to adverse weather conditions, such as typhoons and rainstorm warnings. Parents could arrange for make-up lessons by contacting DLS office for further information.

11. Award: A special trophy will be awarded by the DGS Aquatics Club to the best/outstanding swimmer for Beginner level and Stroke Improvement level during each school term.
