If your move occurs between billing cycles, your first bill at your new address will include “Partial Charges”, which are prorated monthly fees for services at your new address from your move date to your invoice date. Visit our billing support section for more details.

Your account number may change as a result of your move, sign up for online billing, if you haven’t already and easily manage your business bills through one convenient portal.

Ensure that furniture is not blocking areas in which the technician is required to work.

If moving to a multi-tenant building, contact the building manager to ensure that the technician will have access to the communication room to activate your services.

Have your Business Internet Login ID and password handy to expedite your Internet installation.

Set-up your new voicemail. Hint: The temporary password is always your 7 digit phone number.

Moving day

Take an inventory of your telecom services (phone lines, fax lines, jacks, toll free numbers, computers, Internet con-nections, mobile phones, TV, equipment etc.).

Check for inside phone wiring and jacks required within your new premises. Bell technicians are available to install any additional wiring that you require. Visit bell.ca/wiringforbusiness for more information.

Contact Bell 30 days before your move date to book your appointment, discuss your specific requirements and learn about our promotions for businesses who are moving.

Ensure your customers can still reach your business when your existing phone number got disconnected by using the Reference of Calls service. Offered by Bell, this service will inform callers of your new number for 6 to 12 months.

Notify the Bell agent of any plans to move phone and Internet equipment. If you have equipment that is not main-tained by Bell be sure to contact that vendor to make arrangements.

Provide contact names and phone numbers required such as site contact and prime contact.

Update billing address and authorized contacts.

Clear all messages from your voicemail, as you will need to activate a new voicemail service at your new location.

If moving Internet services make sure your Business Internet Login ID and password are noted so you can be up and running without delay in your new location.

Send move notification email to suppliers, partners and customers to advise them of your new address and phone numbers.
