Government relaxes FDI norms across 15 sectors :
The Centre on Tuesday announced ‗Big Bang‘ Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) reforms, easing
norms across 15 sectors including defence, banking, construction, single brand retail,
broadcasting and civil aviation. This is aimed at boosting the investment environment and bring
in more foreign investments in the country.
Emirates bank, SBI join hands for easier remittances :
―The DirectRemit platform is amongst our most popular services, as it provides customers with
an on-the-go, quick and free mechanism to transfer funds instantly to their home country,‖ said
Suvo Sarkar, Senior Executive Vice President & Group Head Emirates NBD.
―We are confident that our customers will take advantage of this new tie-up to carry out
remittances to meet all their ongoing requirements,‖ Sarkar said.
The partnership will allow fund transfers to SBI bank accounts across India in 60 seconds at zero
fees. Emirates NBD currently has existing tie-ups with HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank
in India.
Railways awards GE $2.6 b contract :
GE on Monday announced it would invest $200 million to provide 1,000 diesel locomotives to
the Indian Railways.
The company also announced it had received a Letter of Award from the Ministry of Railways,
marking GE‘s largest deal in India in its history.

The season of good debuts on the stock exchanges continued on Monday with fragrance maker S
H Kelkar & Company Ltd. ending its first day on the bourses at a premium of over 16 per cent
against its issue price.
On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the company made its debut at Rs.223.70 and touched
an intra-day high of Rs.225.05. It finally ended the day at Rs.209.85, a gain of Rs.29.85 or 16.6
per cent against the issue price of Rs.180. On BSE, it closed at Rs.207.30, after touching an
intra-day high of Rs.222.70.

Solar sector seen adding 3.6 GW in 2016
Annual solar installations are forecast at 3.64 GW for 2016 when compared with the expected
addition of 2.15 GW in 2015, according to Mercom Capital, a global clean energy
communications and consulting firm. ―After three years of stagnation, the Indian solar market is
set to experience strong growth over the next several years,‖ said Raj Prabhu, CEO and Co-
Founder of Mercom Capital.
For the present calendar year, solar segment has so far added about 1,652 MW of new capacity,
taking the cumulative solar installations in the country to 4,816 MW. There have been a number
of important energy-related policy announcements recently, with increased activity on the
ground with tenders and auctions beginning to occur more frequently,‖ said Mr.Prabhu.

or Integrated Space System.
The satellite was officially named Kosmos 2510 (Tundra 11L).
This new-generation satellite is designed to restore Moscow‘s capability to detect, track and
identify worldwide missile launches from space.
The satellite was carried by a Soyuz-2.1b rocket from Site 43/4 at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome,
located in Northern Russia.

recommending increase in remuneration of central government employees as well as pensioners.
