LIFE!JOURNEY Resources Needed – Checklist printed for every member Bible Reading – Ephesians 6:10-17 Thought - Life is a journey. It's a cliché, but it's true. The world is divided into two types of people. Those who pack for a journey a week in advance, and those who pack three minutes before they have to leave. So are you the type of person who lays out their clothes in neat piles days or weeks ahead of their departure date and checks them off their laminated list as they put them into the case? Or do you throw whatever looks clean into your case before you walk out the door? And what happens when you arrive? Do you immediately unpack everything (checking it off your laminated list again) or do you arrive and have that moment of horror when you realise you've forgotten to pack those vital hair straighteners/ swimming shorts/clean pants? So what about your spiritual preparation? Listen to verses 10-12 from that passage this time from the Message Translation “And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.” Even if we aren't the most organised individual God has everything set out for us. But here's a challenge for you, try starting each day by putting on the armour of God. I’ve got a checklist for each of you to keep near your bed or your door or wherever you’ll see it at the start of each day. If you notice there's nothing protecting our backs, and why's that? Because God's got your back. It's a cliché but it's true. Prayer – Heavenly Father, thank you that you give us everything we need to be spiritually prepared for what the devil throws at us. Thank you that you are a strong God and that you always love and protect us. Help us to think about our spiritual preparation, to start each day by putting on your armour. Amen
