COMPOSER’S NOTE !Disagreement in proportion is one of the important subjects in Gaudi’s architecture in his building design. This piece was inspired by Gaudi’s craftsmanship on his external design of Casa Mila created between 1906 and 1910 in Barcelona. Exploring his devious symmetrical subject provides me as a composer to explore deceitful dimension in sound and musical arrangement. Overall

structure of this piece was not precisely written in order to generate unbalance proportion of musical sections.

!INSTRUMENTATION AND SET UP

PERFORMANCE GUIDE

1. This piece was written in 7 individual sheets called ‘Dimension” that last for 1 minute divided by 4 sections of 15 seconds each (except for the 7th Dimension). Performers will be asked to improvise within the notated score. Performers have to agree and get contact with each other before move to the next dimension.

2. Conductor will provide the stop watch to guide the time and minimally conduct the piece to allow improvisation within the ensemble.

3. Performers are free to choose any order of dimension they would like to play during the performance except for the 7th Dimension. Composer/conductor will provide the 7th Dimension score right before the performance which contain a graphic/image taken from Casa Mila. This last dimension is an open interpretation from the performers and total improvisational section.

4. Granular Synthesis wave form notated in the score always indicates clarity and intensity of the volume. Larger the wave means loud and more clarity on pitches. Similar to any wave forms notated in this score.

5. This piece will be accompanied by electronic piece (Ceramic) and it should be played from the beginning until the end of this piece. On 6th Dimension, another piece by Goh will be appeared (Measurement v1.0) to feature live electronic music. In this dimension, live electronics performer need to manipulate the sound from Measurement v1.0 while Ceramic will still on play without any alteration and effects.

6. This piece will result an unexpected sound arrangement. Performer will be advised to remain on time by closely follow the stop watch while responding to the ensemble wisely.
