The school believes that learning is a partnership between teachers, parents and students and it has a focus on developing the ‘whole student’, whereby the physical, social, emotional and academic growth of the child have equal importance..

Parent involvement in the school is very high with most families making a positive contribution to the school over the course of the year. We have a number of very supportive families that are represented on school council and/or our parents and friends club. Each group is very active and supportive.

We have high expectations around engagement and wellbeing for all of our students and realise this is most effective when the whole school community shares these same high expectations. All senior students are expected to provide a positive role-model to the rest of the students.

At Waaia-Yalca South PS, corporal punishment is not permitted.
