COURSE OBJECTIVES 1. COURSE DESCRIPTION An Overview of the Procurement Process for Procurement of Goods, Works, Non-Consulng and Consultancy Services: Procurement planning, development of specificaons, requisioning, preparaon of tender documents, invitaon to bid, clarificaons, submission of bids, opening of bids, evaluaon of bids, professional opinion, award of tender, noficaon of intenon to award contract, award of contract, execuon of contract, contract implementaon/delivery of project and Payment. 3. Evaluaon Criteria for Procurement of Works: Overview of the current standard tender document for major works, pre-qualificaon criteria, eligibility criteria (plan for technology and knowledge transfer, reservaon of 50% employment opportunies, plan for building linkages with local industries), evaluaon and qualificaon criteria (Historical financial performance, annual average construcon turnover, access to financial resources, general, similar and specific experience, equipment and key personnel) and award criteria; challenges in developing evaluaon criteria for procurement of major works. * A case study on preparaon of tender evaluaon criteria for Construcon of a Hundred (100) Kilometers Highway in Nairobi Using Internaonal Compeve Bidding Method 2.
