Pratt has been hailed as a powerhouse of creative trail blazers for many

generations. The institution effectively blends theory with creative pursuits and

encourages individuals to push their talents to the maximum potential and become leaders

in their selected professions. The Pratt alumni boasts of some elite names like Painter

Max Weber, IBM logo designer Paul Rand, graphic designer Joshua Davis, and the list is

exhaustive.

My narrative strives to promote Pratt from the perspective of a young designer

and a firm believer in sustainable design practices. The key aspect of this project is to

highlight the main objectives of Pratt’s identity through an effulgent amalgamation of 

photography, graphics and audio elements. Successful efforts are being carried out to

ensure the consistent promotional growth of the Pratt community by propagating the

benefits of a challenging environment and trend setting design practices & products.

Innovative advertising solutions, effective marketing & public relation strategies and

location promotion are used to achieve the aforementioned results. The methodology will

entail concept evaluation through sketches with the aid of pictures. Once the sketch is

complete, the production house will take charge by implementing appropriate software to

do the needful. The final product will be enhanced with the help of After Effects and

Final Cut Pro to achieve the desired result for a 15-30 second presentation to promote

Pratt Institute.

Apart from its exuberant design culture, Pratt is also a path blazer in sustainable

practices. While the faculty provides much needed guidance, direction and motivation,

students are encouraged to exchange ideas and inspire each other. The professors help

their students reach their maximum potential. They foster the idea of expression and

communication through various artistic pursuits and design. I am very grateful that I had

the wonderful opportunity to attend Pratt as a design student. The challenging

environment egged to me to tap my potential and exhibit my talents. The experience

refined my talents and eradicated my negative assets. I highly recommend the Masters

Program in Visual Communications for any individual interested in artistic creative

pursuits. It offers the combined knowledge of aesthetics and advanced technological

know-how. Thanks to its diverse student body, the institute fosters mutual respect and

insights into multi-cultural design principles. Most importantly, Pratt is one of the front

runners in establishing and practicing sustainability; which gives one a chance to

understand and participate in community related issues, hence inspire everyone to do

their bit to save our wonderful planet.
