What is Yoga?
Yoga means union – union with oneself (body mind and spirit), with whole humanity, with nature and with the Supreme Spirit. It is an art of living, with posi>ve a?tude and cheerfulness. Accept, adopt and prac>ce yoga as a part of your life and enjoy happiness and peace. You will be able to reach in this convic>on: ‘I am the living, loving and joyful expression of life’.
DEVA YOGA is smooth blending of Hatha Yoga and Raja Yoga. This is a holis>c approach to health, wellness and spirituality. The prac>ce of Deva Yoga helps to have integra>on of body, mind and spirit.
Yoga is a way of life. It is a path to unfold one's capacity for reaching our full capacity for happiness. This happiness arises when one's body and soul are balanced.
Deva Yoga combines the breathing prac>ces, yoga postures and relaxa>on techniques of Hatha Yoga with the deep philosophy, self control, medita>on and contempla>on of Raja Yoga. Through the prac>se of Hatha Yoga we prepare the body and mind to calm, quite and be ready to enter into medita>on.
Yoga as a way of life and discipline, it is the best means to transform the individual (physically, mentally and spiritually) into a person of integra>on and harmony. The love and posi>ve energy that it produces brings harmony into the person and in the universe.

METHODOLOGY The objec>ves of the Deva Yoga Course or Yoga Dhyana Sadhana Retreat are aQained through a thorough training in the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of Yoga through lectures, and by prac>sing breathing exercises, Postures, relaxa>on methods, concentra>on techniques, stress management and medita>on under the efficient supervision and individual aQen>on given by Yoga Master Dev. Students may get handouts of charts and notes for their daily prac>ce.
For prac>cal sessions the book “Deva Yoga for Wholeness and Wellness” wriQen by Swami, Devaprasad will be followed.

DEV The Yoga Master/Instructor
Renowned & published yoga master & instructor Dev (Devaprasad Swami) started his yogic life in 1979. He learned yoga from various gurus. Having completed his Philosophical studies in Dharmaram College, Bangalore, he started teaching yoga in various ins>tu>ons. He completed the Theological studies in 1993, at Vidyabhavan, KoQayam, Kerala. He has been teaching yoga and yogic medita>on for the last 23 years in various universi>es, colleges, schools and forma>on houses throughout India. He has conducted several yoga-‐training sessions in Germany during 1995 and 1997 and in Canada from 1999 to 2005.
He has wriQen a number of ar>cles in different journals. His first book on Yoga was published in 1995 and his second book on yoga was published in 1998. The third book Deva Yoga was published in 2010. From 1996-‐2003 he was a member of the staff of the Na>onal Centre (NBCLC), Bangalore, India. He was also a teaching staff in Vinayasadhana, Dharmaram College, Bangalore and Monjort College Bangalore, India. He worked in Canada for two years (2003-‐2005) for his yoga-‐spiritual mission. He was a full >me faculty member of Jain University College -‐ Centre for Management Studies, Bangalore, and teaches yoga in other centres of the Jain Group of Ins>tu>ons from 2005 to 2010.
2010 Dev came back to OQawa, Canada. He is offering yoga courses, medita>on, workshops, for groups and individuals; and he is teaching in the city of OQawa recrea>on centres and YMCA.
