MHL 360Deutz modification instructions

1. Remove the old pre-filter housing from the fuel tank and discard.2. Remove the old suction hose between the filter and fuel pump and discard.3. Remove the cover plate for the fuel hoses (A) using a 13mm socket.

4. Install bracket (B) part nr. 6036015028 onto the fuel tank as shown using two bolts part nr. 1008707424. Tighten with a 13mm socket.

B.5. Pre assembly of the filter and pump can be found on attached drawing 6090058100. The SEPAR filter needs to be pre assembled and mounted onto the new tank bracket using two bolts 1008707018. Pay careful attention to the hand pump direction (arrow with TOP pointing up)!!! Also be sure to use the green o-rings when installing the fittings into the new filter!!!

6. Attach steel pipe (C) from the suction outlet from tank to the hand pump

7. Attach the new fuel suction line (D) Nr. 6036015032 to the fuel pump. A new, larger diameter fitting Nr. 1 915 060 564 has to be installed in the pump inlet (See above Foto) Install cable ties in accordance with drawing 6090058100.

(To be done after the DEUTZ technician has finished installing the engine update)

8. Replace the floor cover. Using the hand pump bleed all injector lines and start the engine. A complete machine set up must be done including TEACH-IN. A spare filter Nr. 5501648523 must be changed after 500 operating hours. 9. A water collection unit Nr. 6090058102 needs to be installed under the fuel tank between the tank outlet and quick drain connect plug.This container is screwed into the bottom of the tank and the drain plug is thenscrewed into the container.

Update includes: New injectors, high pressure lines, return lines, fuel pump, check valve

1 Fuel system1.1 Fuel filterChange according to inspection plan, chap-ter 7.5 and oil analyses, chapter 7.1.1.�� Thoroughly clean the outside of the fuel

filter unit.�� Unscrew the fuel filter cartridge (69/3) (by

possibly using a tightening scrap wrenchand dispose of according to regulations.

�� Clean the sealing area of the filter carrier.�� Fill the fuel filter with fuel.�� Coat the seal on the fuel filter with fuel, and

screw in by hand until the seal of the fuelfilter cartridge touches the filter head.

�� Turn the fuel filter cartridge with one morehalf turn.

�� Check the tightness of the fuel filter car-tridge.

1.2 Cleaning fuel pre-filter with inte-grated filter element

Change according to inspection plan, chap-ter 7.5 and oil analyses, chapter 7.1.1.

All maintenance work on the fuelpre-filter must be carried out withthe engine off.

�� Switch off the engine.

�� Open the vent plug on the filter cover (70/1).

�� Open the drain valve (70/2), collect any dirtand water in an appropriate container anddispose of according to regulations.

�� Close the drain valve (70/2).

�� Vent the fuel pre-filter using the hand pump(70/6).

�� Operate the hand pump (70/6) until fuelescapes without bubbles on the open ventplug of the fuel pre-filter cover (70/1). Col-lect the escaping fuel and dispose of ac-cording to regulations.

�� Close the vent plug (70/1).

1.3 Replacing fuel pre-filter with inte-grated filter element

Change according to inspection plan, chap-ter 7.5 and oil analyses, chapter 7.1.1.

All maintenance work on the fuelpre-filter must be carried out withthe engine off.

Function of drain valve: Press con-trol knob towards the valve body,then turn.

�� Switch off the engine.

�� Open the vent plug on the filter cover (70/1).

��Open the drain valve (70/2), collect any dirtand water in an appropriate container anddispose of according to regulations. Thevolume of fluid to be disposed of shouldnot exceed 0.5 � 1.0 liters.

�� Close the drain valve (70/2).

�� Unscrew the filter cover screws (70/3).

�� Remove the filter cover.

�� Take out the spring cassette (71/4).

�� Take out the filter element (71/5) by thebracket.

�� Insert the new filter element.

�� Place the spring cassette (71/4) on the newfilter element.

�� Check the filter cover gasket, replace ifnecessary. Insert the gasket in the filtercover observing the correct seat.

�� Re-mount the filter cover. Tighten screwscrosswise.

�� Vent the fuel pre-filter as described in sec-tion 7.6.4.2.

�� After starting the engine, check the tight-ness of the fuel pre-filter.

The starter is not to be operatedlonger than max. 20 seconds.
