Course contentFounded in 2004, the three-year CE doctoralmodule rounds off the ComputationalEngineering study programme in Erlangen. ThisInternational Postgraduate Programme (IPP) wasestablished as a part of the Graduate School ofthe Faculty of Engineering, which embraces allformal aspects of the doctoral programmes.This doctoral programme is designed topromote and foster the training of youngresearchers in the interdisciplinary area ofengineering, computer sciences andmathematics and, furthermore, to qualify themfor independent scientific work inmultidisciplinary engineering fields. Thispostgraduate research education is designed tolead to attainment of the prestigious Germandoctoral degree Dr-Ing. It is offered to studentswho have specialised in ComputationalEngineering in their graduate studies, or toengineering students with a particularknowledge in computer sciences andmathematics.Central to this module is the doctoral fellow'ssolution of a scientific problem posed within oneof the participating groups' researchprogrammes. The research is supervised by twomentors. As an educational supplementsupporting the research, the programmeincludes lectures, courses, and seminars which

Enrolment feesThe contribution to student services currentlyamounts to 42 EUR per semester. An additionalcharge of 65 EUR per semester covers themandatory basic "semester ticket", a transitpass that provides students with unlimitedaccess to public transport in the metropolitanregion of Nuremberg from 7pm to 6am onweekdays and at all times at weekends. (For anadditional, optional charge, the validity of thepass can be extended to 24/7.)

AccommodationErlangen and Nuremberg are attractive citieswith historic flair and modern infrastructure.FAU will do its best to assist new students infinding accommodation.
