preclinical research
Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear colleagues,
Since its founding in 2011, the Deutsche Akademie für Mikrotherapie (DAfMT) has undergone exciting developments. Initially, we focused on training courses in interventional radio-logy, meeting the national and international demand for inno-vative interdisciplinary therapy options. Meanwhile, we have expanded the range of our offer by adding surgical, urological, gastroenterological as well as oncological hands-on courses, incorporating highly specific interdisciplinary approaches. Additionally, there is a number of clinical observance courses with intense clinical theoretical sessions.
Another area of substantial growth is our seminars for trai-ning medical employees in clinical processes and background knowledge on diseases and disease management. The extensive knowledge of clinical processes acquired and medical approa-ches discussed aid medical professionals and clinical consultants considerably in optimising their own services and products for the patients‘ benefit.
We continue to plan and run new course formats such as the tumour conference simulation, which is more than just an op-portunity for professionals involved in minimally invasive onco-logy to acquire in-depth clinical knowledge. The objective of the tumour conference simulation is to gain experience in clinical processes and management in terms of indication, determina-tion and argumentation. Such simulations are, of course, not limited to the tumour conference, but are equally suitable for an indication discussion, e.g. at the vascular conference.
We at the DAfMT feel that we have not only met the ambitious goals set at the founding of the association, but even exceeded them by continuously re-evaluating the demand for courses and concepts in line with latest medical development.
Preclinical research continues to prosper through the excellent facilities of the DAfMT, state-of-the-art radiology technology, extraordinary high expertise in the area of image-guided thera-py applicable in numerous different specialist fields, and a well-established collaboration with the University Medical Center Magdeburg. The vast expertise of our international, interdisci-plinary consortium composes the pillars of DAfMT’s continuous, ever expanding medical research.
