The Detroit Promo Brand Started in 2008 by Derrick Lewis Sr. and Mollison Folson and was used to promote Detroit artist who had no other radio outlet for the world to hear them, Detroit Promo assisted these artist via radio 88.3 FM & web broadcasting. The Detroit Promo Radio Show first aired in 2008 on WHFR 88.3 FM broadcast live from Henry Ford Community College with interviews from the who’s who in the Detroit Music Scene and ran for two years strong. The show featured a mixed genre of music with Detroit’s birth rite techno and house setting the stage followed by cutting-edge new rap / R&B / rock artist’s, but not limited to just those genres. The Detroit Promo Brand has grown through its website detroitpromo.com and social sites such as Facebook and Twitter and has acquired a fanatical following of fans and reputable artist worldwide. The Detroit Promo Brand assisted in launching the careers of EDM hottest new recording artist Andrew “Red” Hand and GT who was winner of the Detroit Promo Remix Contest 2010 sponsored by Propellerhead Software.

The Detroit Promo TV Mission DPTV is geared to integrate dance music to a new group of listeners who have been heavily influenced by rap music. DPTV will give good established local artist a chance to prosper in their musical careers with mass exposure along with jump starting new careers by introducing new music from local and unknown artist worldwide all through television, live and archived web broadcasting on the Detroit Promo TV Website, Detroit Promo TV Uncut Ustream and the Detroit Promo TV YouTube channel. DPTV will include commentary and music videos along with designated segments such as: Detroit Promo Product Review, The Rap Report and The Local Scene to showcase things other than music in Detroit. Included with every episode will be a positive enlightening message associated with the Laws of Nature that the viewer can take with them and apply to everyday life. Detroit Promo Television shall give a positive view of Detroit’s rich culture in food and the arts all with your help.

Mollison DerrielleMollison Derrielle

The Hosts Mollison Folson has over 25 years experience in the music industry. A producer of techno music under the moniker Body Mechanic, has released several records under the umbrella of the legendary Under Ground Resistance, [UR] label. Derrielle Goodwin is a former Event Planner at Wayne State University. With 10 years plus experience she was responsible for various projects, conference and campaigns consisting of : First Lady Michelle Obama’s visit to Detroit, Allied Media Services and Homeland Security’s annual conferences, to name a few. Detroit Promo TV is a techno-dedicated music program featuring interviews from the likes of Motown Recording Artist Kem; Mike Kulick, Media Manager at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit [MOCAD]; UR/DarkPrint Recording Artist Suburban Knight; Los Hermanos and more. Detroit Promo Television has also covered events such as: Movement Electronic Festival , Arts, Beats and Eats, Mack and Third, Dally in the Ally and many more. In addition to the interviews, each show will feature a short from local animated artist Matthew Ellison of Electricottofunkfactory.com along with regular segments such as The Local Scene, Detroit Critic, What’s New on Wax and The Rap Report.

Production Timeline The production for season two of DPTV will take place over three months. Starting Sept 28, 2014. Episode recording will start Sept 28, 2014 filming and editing for each episode will be done weekly to keep up with the change in current events. Season two will end January 2015.
