The main limitation that a candidateoften faces is the restricted time. A candidate has to answer about 100 questions in 120minutes, so on an average one gets around 40 seconds for each question.

Read right books for Prelims Exam:One of the most important things to crack Prelims is to have a conceptual clarity. The questionsasked in the paper are of 10+2 level and therefore, the books of this level should be readdiligently to gain conceptual clarity, which means gaining an insight of what the conceptconveys (its origin, merit, demerit), and how it is inter-related with other related concepts orrelated subjects or other subjects.

Solve previous years and model question papers:The exam is all about applying the logic in choosing the right option among the given fouroptions as mugging up concepts won’t take you further than solving only 20 questions whichare direct questions. Reaching the right option can be best achieved through the method ofelimination, which is nothing but eliminating the least relevant option. This can only beapplied if one has made concerted efforts to solve as many as previous years and modelquestion papers possible within stipulated time.

Attempt prelims mock tests:This is one area which sets apart successful candidates from unsuccessful candidates. Mocktests form the integral part of regular preparations of successful candidates.
