Jane says that she wants more “practical” experience, meaning that she wants to experience life for herself rather than wait for someone else to experience it for her and be force her to discover everything from books. The second way that the author provides evidence to his or her idea is that the speaker claims that she is born restless. She states that “I could not help it; the restlessness was in my nature.” This statement implies that Jane could not contain her peculiarities and has an innate desire to go beyond the limits that are set for her. Jane claims she cannot be blamed for her behavior because she cannot control it.
