IIST M.Tech. Programme - July 2012

Notification for Admission(dated 25-Apr-2012)

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology envisions the integration of Space

Technology and Space Science educational programmes with basic and applied

research for meeting the national R&D requirements of science and technology in

general and of the Indian Space Programme in particular. The institute in addition to

offering under graduate and post graduate programmes also provides doctoral and

postdoctoral programmes.

Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for admission to the M.Tech.

Programme starting in July 2012, in the areas of (i) Propulsion, (ii) RF and Microwave

Engineering, (iii) Digital Signal Processing and (iv) Optical Engineering.

Eligibility

Minimum Qualifications: BE/B.Tech/MSc orequivalent in the relevant area with first

class or equivalent. All candidates must have a valid GATE score in the relevant area.

Age Limit: Applicant should be below 28 years as on 17th

May 2012. Age relaxation

applicable as per Govt. Rules.

All selected M.Tech students will be provided accommodation in the institutecampus.

M.Tech Fellowship:

1. The candidates selected for IIST M.Tech. programme will be given a fellowship as

per AICTE guidelines.2. The M.Tech. students will be required to assist the Departments in academic

activities as and when required.

3. The M.Tech. students will have to pay tuition / registration fee and fee for the

boarding /

lodging/medical facilities etc., as per IIST rules.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

1. Applications in the prescribed format will be received until 21st

May 2012.

2. Candidates will be short-listed based on Academic records and other relevant criteria

like GATE score.

3. Selection will be based on a written test/interview in their relevant areas

4. List of shortlisted candidates for written test/interview will be displayed in IIST

website on 28th

May 2012

5. Written test/interview will be conducted at IIST, Trivandrum on 18 June 2012.

6. Selected candidates will be intimated within a week of the final interview. The

above results will also be displayed in our website.

7. Outstation candidates will not be paid their travel costs. Also, they will have to take

care of their boarding/lodging for attending the written test/interview.
