IN PARADISE

MIDNIGHT

The collection ‘Midnight in Paradise’ is inspired by my journeys through the streets of the Greek islands at midnight. The atmosphere of walking through the ancient pathways, lit with glowing lights, enabled meto transcend my reality and enter a world of mystery through the infinite night. The intent was not to imitate the typical Greek architecture of blue and white buildings, rather to capture the spirit and feeling that one gets when walking through the streets. Due to this, my research lead me to looking into moreorganic forms and spaces which emphasised lighting in the design. The collection of works is primarily made from wax. I chose this material as it gives off a luminous quality when lit up. Overall the collectionmade from wax. I chose this material as it gives off a luminous quality when lit up. Overall the collectionembodies the feeling of being in a state of mind where anything may be possible. The limitless qualitiesof the sculptures emulate the endless journey through the mysterious pathways which lead to endless possibilities and opportunities. My final design is filled with simple curves that allow one to move throughthe space as if there were no end. The space gives the illusion of infinity and expansiveness to give the experience of an endless night.

ROSE SEIDLER HOUSE

The Rose Seidler House is an outstanding example of modern architecture, The Rose Seidler House was built by the celebrated architect Harry Seidlerbetween 1948 and 1950 for his parents Rose and Max Seidler.

For this communications project we were given the task to hand draw and render on photoshop the plan, section, elevation and perspective of the house.The hand drawings weere rendered with watercolour and pensils and the photoshop renders consists of mostly the layering of materials with lighting and shadowing renders consists of mostly the layering of materials with lighting and shadowing created with the doge and burn tools.
