NEXUSThe interdisciplinary Nexus Product Design team has been developing product lines and design strategies for leading brands since 1987. Winners of prestigious international awards, Nexus has created ingenious ranges inspired by VitrA’s finely honed mastery of technology and design; which are smart, elegant and subtly distinctive in style.

NOAThe German design studio NOA specialises in designing new products, technologies and communication strategies.

NOA’s fruitful collaboration with VitrA has created many ranges including the M-Line, T4 and Shift collections.

INSPIRED APPROACH TO DESIGN

VitrA employs its own large in-house design team but also collaborates closely with a world-class collection of independent, acclaimed designers. These talented individuals apply their creative flair and instinct to bathroom design, to not only improve bathroom aesthetics, but functionality as well.


PENTAGON DESIGNPentagon Design is an award winning design studio based in Finland. The needs of the consumer are always a primary focus when it comes to their approach. This results in the development of product ideas and strategies that engage the user and the architectural space.

MATTEO THUN & PARTNERSMilan-based Matteo Thun & Partners is a studio of architecture, design and communication that refuses to be categorised in stylistic terms. This is the reason why the studio can approach such a wide variety and scale of work, ranging from hotels to coffee cups, with endless originality and vitality.

INDEEDAs Europe’s leading company for holistic design and brand innovations, Indeed creates compelling designs and powerful brand experiences. VitrA’s high-tech and sophisticated Pure and T4 brassware collections were developed by Indeed.

CHRISTOPHE PILLETBased in France, Christophe Pillet’s name is synonymous with stylish, functional and natural design – the lightness of touch in his work is elegance epitomised. His perfect command of sensuality and refinement has made him one of the most renowned French designers to have gained global recognition.

ROSS LOVEGROVEOne of the most fascinating designers of the 21st century and recipient of countless awards, Ross Lovegrove creates sculptural and organic shapes using sophisticated technology and materials. His design concept ‘organic essentialism’ is inspired by elements from the natural world which are then reshaped into futuristic forms.

EVOLUTION OF THE VITRA BRAND

VitrA becomes the first sanitaryware producer in Europe to receive a European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) award.

Süleyman Ferit Bey, Dr. Nejat Eczacıbaşı’s father, is given the title of “Eczacıbaşı”.

VitrA is an international brand, producing 5 million pieces of sanitaryware per year and exporting to 75 countries worldwide.

Süleyman Ferit Bey buys the Sifa Pharmacy in Izmir and begins producing toothpaste, lotions and creams.

INNOVATION

A HISTORY OF INGENUITYVitrA’s rich heritage can be traced back to 1909, when renowned Turkish pharmacist Süleyman Ferit Eczacıbaşı began producing bathing and cologne products at his pharmacy in Izmir. Thirty years on, his son Dr Nejat Eczacıbaşı continued the family’s flair for innovation by establishing a pharmaceutical laboratory in Istanbul.

This business grew rapidly and in 1952 he opened the first Turkish modern pharmaceutical plant. Within the decade Eczacıbaşı’s vision had grown to encompass ceramic sanitaryware and in 1958 he created the first centre for its production in Turkey. VitrA was born.

INNOVATION CENTREVitrA’s innovation centre is the creative hub for the design and production of new materials, processes and technologies for its bathroom products and tiles. Here, architects and designers are encouraged to free their imaginations and original ideas are showcased in a setting that blends design with culture, art and lifestyle.

This approach results in innovative solutions that transform an ordinary bathroom into an exceptional living space – new ideas that improve comfort and ergonomy, and ensure sustainability.

The group’s first manufacturing plant opens abroad in Ireland, manufacturing ceramic tiles.

VITRA FRESH

VitrA Fresh WC pans have incorporated a tank into the design of the pan that dispenses detergent with every flush, helping to clean the pan thoroughly and protect from the build-up of bacteria.

It eliminates the problem of corrosion to the flushing mechanism caused by adding cleaning agents to the cistern. VitrA Fresh is currently only available on the M-Line range.

The functionality of a toilet and the cleaning properties of a bidet combine to offer an impressive WC design with increased comfort.

Created by designer studio NOA, V-care fits perfectly to all types of bathroom styles and looks completely like a stylish, typical WC. With this new generation of shower toilet, VitrA is offering increased hygiene with water cleaning and ergonomic design. These qualities and increased comfort match the needs of the modern living style such as different washing options, water-seat temperature adjustment, drying options and an automatic open / close mechanism.

V-care will bring a new standard to your bathrooms with its design, comfort and improved hygienic use.


EASY TO CLEAN WCDue to the rimless design of the inner bowl and hidden “V-Fit” installation technology, the V-care WC is very easy to clean. • Rim-Ex technology eliminates the rim inside the

WC, enabling cleaning of the inner bowl with one single wipe.

• “V-Fit” installation technology means that the side of the WC has a completely smooth surface, enabling easy cleaning.

ERGONOMICALLY DESIGNED SEATThe toilet seat has been designed with the user in mind. It has an optimum seating area and the seat temperature can be adjusted via the remote control.

DRYING AND AIR PURIFICATIONAfter usage (Comfort version only) the user can select a drying function and also adjust the drying temperature. In both versions, the air purification is automatically activated when the user is seated on the WC.


VERY SIMPLE TO OPERATEV-care can be used via remote control and has a very simple user-interface. The WC’s basic functions can also be controlled on the right and left hand side of the toilet.

MORE HYGENICV-care offers touch-free WC usage and the seat opens via remote or automatically when you approach. You can simply start the integrated shower function with the touch of a button while you stay sitting comfortably on the WC. The washing and drying options are also controlled by the remote.

ENERGY-SAVING FUNCTIONThere are three modes for usage: 1. Standard 2. Energy-saving 3. Stand-by

SPACE-SAVINGV-care combines the functions of a regular toilet and a bidet, saving the space needed for a bidet in the bathroom.

The optimal depth of the bowl prevents dirt building up on the surface, enabling residues to easily wash down the waste.

VITRA RIM-EX

The redesigned bowl of the M-Line series WC pan features a channel-free design that eliminates germ reproduction and provides superior hygiene. The water diverter tool can also be easily removed for cleaning.

VITRA FRESH

Another M-Line series innovation is the WC pan with a liquid cleaning tank. The tank on top of the WC pan dispenses liquid cleaner with every flush, cleaning the pan thoroughly and protecting against bacteria. It also shields the flushing mechanism from the corrosive effects of cleaning agents placed in the cistern.

3 STYROFOAM COATING

The bottom section of the cistern is completely coated with styrofoam which prevents condensation and also provides improved sound insulation.

2 PANEL OPENINGThe panel opening on the body of the cistern provides easy access to the components and has been designed with an optimum opening size to ensure that maintenance of the product can easily be carried out.

1 INTERVAL TAPAn interval tap is supplied pre-installed to the cistern. If maintenance is required, isolating the water flow is easily accessed, allowing repairs to be carried out.

8 METAL LEGSMetal legs ensure that the height and calibration of the product from the floor can be completed accurately at the time of installation.

4 FLUSHING UNITSThe most important component of the cistern is the flushing unit responsible for ensuring the flow of water from the cistern into the WC pan. This component meets very stringent standards, to ensure that it does not leak.

5 CONTROL PANELThe control panel is the component that operates the cistern. The panel can easily be removed for maintenance purposes.

6 FILL VALVEOne of the most important components, the fill valve, controls the water being fed into the cistern. To ensure safety and guaranteed performance, these units are subjected to longevity testing. The units are also equipped with filters that eliminate the risk of clogging to ensure durability and long term use.

7 OVERFLOW PIPEThe overflow pipe located within the flushing component maintains the safety of the concealed cistern. If the cistern fills with excessive water, the pipe ensures that the surplus water is diverted into the WC pan to avoid overflowing.

ACCESSIBLE MAINTENANCEThe control panel can easily be removed, providing ready access to internal fittings. Control panels have a 5-year guarantee.

PRACTICAL & QUICK INSTALLATIONInstallation of the concealed frame is quick and easy because of its intuitive design, especially advantageous for multiple installations.

PRACTICAL AND ESSENTIAL FEATURES Cisterns, pipes, U-bends and other unsightly components become invisible with the use of a concealed cistern and frame. The benefits are not just in terms of appearance: here are some practical reasons for choosing a VitrA wall-hung WC and concealed solution.

SILENTThe special fill valve located inside the concealed cistern is silent filling. The cistern is covered with styrofoam to provide extra sound proofing.

HYGIENICKeeping a bathroom clean and hygienic is made easier with wall-hung sanitaryware. All unsightly pipe work, a haven for dirt and dust, is hidden behind the wall and the WC is lifted from the floor, providing a smoother and easier cleaning area.

SPACE-SAVINGA wall-hung WC solution takes up less room than a conventional WC and the concealed installation offers flexibility in confined spaces. A wall-hung WC will give the illusion of a larger bathroom as a greater floor area can be seen.

WATER SAVINGThe dual flush action for both the 8cm and 12cm concealed cisterns operate at 2.5/4L or 3/6L, resulting in up to 70% reduced water consumption, benefiting both you and the environment.

INSTALL & SPECIFY WITH CONFIDENCE

PERFORMANCE TEST All products are subjected to rigorous performance testing at VitrA’s production facilities. Products are tested to ensure that they operate flawlessly before they can be passed.

LEAK DETECTION TESTINGWe test each and every cistern individually to ensure that it is 100% watertight.

OVERFLOW TESTINGThe overflow pipe located within the valve is the product’s safety device. The pipe’s performance is tested according to the standards of water flow.

LONGEVITY TESTOur products are periodically tested for longevity according to international standards. Not one of the product’s components demonstrated a drop in performance after being consecutively tested 200,000 times.

FLOW RATE TESTINGThe amount of water used during flushing is pre-determined to meet industry standards. If the cistern is not flushed at the required flow rate, the WC pan may not be cleaned properly. As a result, the products must pass a quality control test according to the flow rate (2L/second) set by international standards.

STRENGTH AND STABILITYConcealed frames and wall-hung WC pans have been designed to support weights of up to 400kg.
