ear Supporters

, Well-wishers, Our Social Media followers, Donors,

Sponsors and our Amazing Students, on behalf of the Executive Team at TeluguPeople Foundation, I wish you all a Happy New Year and Sankranthi! We are in a New Year already. The last year has been very helpful for us and to our students. We were able to cross 200,000 in donations in 2018 and we are working hard to keep up the pace.

I sincerely thank all of you for what and where we are today. I thank you all from the bottom of

my heart for your amazing and continued support in our mission to bring change in many lives. I would also like to share another important news with all of you. We automated the funds distribution process with the help of our IT Team, under the leadership of our IT Director Satya Yerraganti garu. We all can proudly say that every student we are helping can directly or indirectly influence and bring change in the lives of another 100 people in the short, medium and long terms. We need to reach out to the lowest segments of our society and help them grow in their lives.

I request all of you to share our success stories. Inform your friends and relatives in India what

we are doing and ask them to identify the deserving candidates from backward districts, backward areas and communities where the help is needed the most. Also, please come forward to volunteer and be a mentor to some of our Students by joining our Student Engagement Team. Please visit our website and see how you can help and contribute. We also need to create more leaders in TeluguPeople Foundation and onboard more volunteers so that we will be able serve and help more students. Please suggest us if you come across anyone who can help strengthen our foundation. Also, please spread the word about us, spread the work we are doing. Use your social media strength to promote TeluguPeople Foundation. Once again, thank you very much for your continued support.

We reached Gold Level in GuideStar. We plan to reach Platinum (the highest level) this year!

GuideStar is for Nonprofits, what Yelp is for restaurants. Each year, millions of people use GuideStar information to make decisions about nonprofits and the work they do. Donors explore charities and issues they want to support. Nonprofit leaders benchmark their organizations against their peers. Funders research grantees. We strive to provide the highest-quality, most complete nonprofit information available.

We completed disbursing a cumulative total, since the day we started in 2008, of 1 crore rupees in Financial Scholarships and

grant money. We are very confident of completing the disbursement of the 2nd crore of

rupees (roughly $144,000 based on the current USD/INR FX rates) this year (2019) itself. We have reached the critical mass to take us to the next level.

Total donations in 2018 has crossed $200,000, a big thanks to individual, corporate and corporate matching donations. Here are the un-audited number for 2018. Some of the funds donated in December ’18 is with Benevity, a Third Party Administrator (TPA) used by Apple and Google, and will be deposited into our bank account in the third week of January ’19.

Please remember that all the operational expenses are borne by the Executive Board so that every cent of your donation is given to the end beneficiary. We opened a Money Market account with TD Bank to stash away the excess ($40,000) funds that are needed in the short term, giving us 1.5% in interest.

This financial strength allows to make a bigger and wider impact through our efforts.

Prior to making a donation, please check the Matching Gifts section in our Donate page. You can easily double, or even triple, your impact in case

your employer matches your

donation!

We added GlaxoSmithKline,

GSK, to the list of corporations that matched their employees’ donations to us.

Amazon Smiles continues to be generous to our cause – in all of 2018, we received a total of $46.79 from them. When you purchase from Amazon, please login via Amazon Smiles and select TeluguPeople Foundation as your favorite charity. Amazon donates 0.05% of the transaction to us.
