Format of Design Report
Design Report will be of maximum 12 pages (including cover
pages, pictures, charts etc.). This should be a
single file of maximum file size 5MB in Portable Document Format
(.pdf) only. In no case any other files like
CAD models, videos are acceptable along with the design
report.
There are total 8 pages excluding cover page to describe whole
design report and rest 3 pages are given for
images (i.e. images of CAD model, subsystems, drivetrain,
FEA/simulation, sketches of vehicle etc). Teams
should use Times New Roman font with font size 11 and line
spacing 1.15 on all A4 pages. Only white
background (no image/ watermark etc) is allowed in design
report.
1. Cover page:Cover page format is specified in this format
itself at page-1. Teams should give their proper details in the
space mentioned. Team/college logo can be displayed at the
mentioned space only.

Report Details:
Design report should be a complete document describing all
details of the whole project. This document
should include following points in the following order only.
(Maximum 8 pages)
i. Abstract: Teams are advised to provide the summary of their
project mentioning all highlightsincluding introduction of their
vehicle, targets, methodology, various approaches adopted in
the
complete designing of efficycle. (not more than half a page)
ii. Technical Specifications of Vehicle: This will include the
all features and technical details of thevehicle, Performance
Targets (all details in tabular format)
iii. Project Plan: Project plan should include the break-up of
various activities of project. This isadvisable to show a visible
date/week-wise detailed plan in report.
iv. Design, Calculations and selection of following (clearly
stating the selection procedure, calculations,comparisons and
selected option out of various alternatives taken into
consideration)
a. Frame configuration, design and materialb. Drivetrain
(including motor and speed control arrangements, human power drive,
battery etc.)c. Steering, Suspension and Brakesd. Wheels and
Tyrese. Seating arrangement, Seat design and featuresf. Safety
provisions for the safety of vehicle, its occupants and
bystandersg. Other features of vehicle (if any)
v. Ergonomic featuresvi. Recyclability analysis of materials
used and complete vehicle
vii. Contribution of Efficycle for environments betterment
(provide the analysis and details of go greenfeatures of your
Efficycle)
viii. Innovationsix. Design differences from last year vehicle
(if applicable)x. Resources utilized: Brief description of
resources utilized to carry out whole project including
CAD/CAE packages, fabrication facilities etc.

xi. Design Validation Plan: Mention system/parts under
validation, validation method, criteria, tests tobe carried out
etc.
xii. Cost summary: Subsystem wise brief cost summary is
required.xiii. References and acknowledgements3.
Pictorial Presentation:
Teams can provide the pictorial illustrations of their vehicle
upto a maximum of 3 separate pages (minimum 4
photos per page) at the end of report. However, pictures can
also be included within the report details (as
specified in section 2 of this format)but this doesnt allow
exceeding more than specified number of pages for
Report Details. These illustrations can include following:
i. Hand sketches of the vehicle- maximum 2 No.ii. CAD model
images of complete vehicle- maximum 4 No. (Isometric + 3 other
views)
iii. Image of any prototype- maximum 1 No.iv. Details of
Drivetrain (actual and CAD model)v. Innovation
vi. Other subsystemsNote: Logos of sponsors can be included on
the last page.
Guidelines for Teams
1. The design report must strictly comply with the format
specified. Any queries regarding format mustbe informed to
Technical Committee [email protected]
2. Teams are advised to send their complete report before last
date of submission. After deadlines, noreport will be accepted.
3. Reports must be submitted to [email protected] with
subject name Design Report__
4. Do not submit the design report to any other ID until and
unless published on Efficycle officialwebsite or informed by
Technical Committee.

Last date of Design Report submission is 31st July, 2013
