brand

CLIENT: Rwanda PartnersPROJECT SHOWN: BrandROLE: Art Direction, Design, Photography, Film, Copy

DESCRIPTION: Working for Rwanda Partners as their creative director, I was first tasked with a complete re-brand of the organization. It was important to convey the spirit of those whom we worked with on the African continent, while also appealing to a donor base vastly diverse in age and interest. This project required me to define brand moods, pho-tography guidelines, and all collateral uses.

CLIENT: Redson CreativePROJECT SHOWN: BrandROLE: Art Direction, Design, Photography, Copy

DESCRIPTION: Redson Creative was a company I founded in 2009 to build experiential spaces. In launching the company, I knew I needed a brand that would encapture a modern and rustic aesthet-ic simultaneously. I believe the hammer captured the essence of what the company valued as the tool is timeless, to-the-point in its functionality, and beautifully simple in its design.

CLIENT: Cortona CafePROJECT SHOWN: Experiential SpaceROLE: Fabrication, Space Design

DESCRIPTION: I had the honor of working with a great team on the Cortona Cafe project. I was able to collaborate directly with the chief designer and the architect; this led to a fantastic final product that encapsulated the feel the small Italian town known for its annual conference where artists, phi-losophers and scientists come together to discuss important cultural issues.

CLIENT: Rwanda PartnersPROJECT SHOWN: Fund-raising EventROLE: Event Planning, Experience Design, Art Direc-tion

DESCRIPTION: It could be argued that the primary role of any non profit executive is to fund raise, but I believe more in the power of friend-raising. Wine tasting is a great way to make friends, so I set out to recreate the African Savannah with an elegant twist. I oversaw every facet of the event with 130 VIPs in attendance raising 35k dollars.

messaging& narrative

CLIENT: Rwanda Partners / Rwanda Basket CompanyPROJECT SHOWN: Marketing, AdvertisingROLE: Art Direction, Design, Photography, Film, Copy

DESCRIPTION: Marketing products is simply telling stories. The more heartfelt the story, the greater value the product has in the consumer’s mind. With the Rwanda Basket Company, you couldn’t ask for a better story - women who weave these baskets in Rwanda have been disenfranchised by war, pov-erty, and rape. 100% of the profits from the sell of the baskets in the global market go directly to the women. One women buys a basket and the other can buy medicine for her children; a relationship is forged. That’s product sociability - answering the question ‘how am I making the world a better place as a consumer?’

I had the privilege of sharing this story through so-cial media, film, print, live events, and many other forms of earned and paid media.

CLIENT: Headache Wellness CenterPROJECT SHOWN: Web Design MockupROLE: Art Direction, Design

DESCRIPTION: This is a mockup layout and design for the Headache Wellness Center. As a medical center, the aesthetic of the website needed to appeal to a large audience, thus the safe and trendy design of the site.

CLIENT: Rwanda PartnersPROJECT SHOWN: Print DesignROLE: Art Direction, Design

DESCRIPTION: While primary school in Rwanda is free, children are required to wear uniforms in order to attend - a requirement unattainable for those who cannot even afford to purchase food. The ‘Uniforms Transform’ campaign harnesses the power of high school students across the U.S. to change the lives of students half way around the world through a generous donation of a uniform. This poster hangs in schools across the country and has contributed to the purchase of 400 uni-forms for Rwandan children.

ABOUT

I like working with friends. My daughter is really cute. I can’t go anywhere without noticing great and horrible design. I think mowing the lawn is relaxing. I’m really good at building systems. I don’t believe that efficiency always equates to effectiveness. I’m a student of life. Someday I want to start my own brewery. I’m kind of a neat freak. The beauty is in the details. I require that I’m given ownership of my work.
