Fall 2010Weave and Tension FoldingField of Study: Parametic CorrelationsMaterial: Aluminum Mesh

Weave and Tension folding derived from the study of origami. Using a 12inch by 12inch aluminum mesh grid plots were pointed from the form of a human hand and its joints

Three rules were used to defined the structures spatial system.

1. The material must be weaved (biaxial)

2. Tension must be Applied

3. Apply Tension through directed path (start point - endpoint)

Spring 2010Vertical Storage CaseField of Study: Environmental DesignMaterial: 1/4” Birch Plywood

The Vertical storage case was design to hold fabric scarfs made of satin or silk. Their material composition allows for them to be easily stuffed or folded into the alloted space. Each compartment is 2in by 1 1/2in.

Spring 2011Rotating Circular TableField of Study: Woodshop SkillsMaterial: Poplar Wood

The Rotating Circular Table was designed to hold and display models and projects. Each circle was purposely made for the use of hierarchy in the users project. The object of main importance goes in the center and supporting details go on the remaining circles.

When no longer in use, the table rotates under itself to fold close and can be stored away.

VERVE, is an expression of the individuals that stand before us. A simulation of a piece crafted so intently | it alludes to the idea of movement. | WE, so constantly in motion | ripping and running | no stop to the thoughts constantly flowing. | But wait ,…there is a light at the end of the tunnel | a spirit broken free from the traditional realms of 90 degree angles of up right seats and tables. | It is a VISION of something new | using form as its function | A tool to self EDUCATE | a REVERBERATION of innovation, stewardship, authenticity and community | it is our VER-ISM or artistic preference of the everyday to the legendary | Your ENERGY is the epiphany of this revolution.

I introduce to you VERVE a “P [NO] B & J” PRODUCT-ion.

Spring 2012VERVEField of Study: Learning Places

VERVE was created by Jasmine Jones and Phillip Snider. Design to give the Interior architecture students a place to relax from their work in studio. VERVE provides casual work space, seating and storage.

Fall 2011Color PlayField of Study: Lighting Design Group Members: Jasmine Jones, Jessica Wilson, Anna Behrendt, Nicole Ware

Utilizing a 12in by 12in white box, primary colors were used within to celebrate additive mixing. White reflects light so the colors easily presented themselves to the seeing eye.

Spring 2011ClockworkField of Study: Residential and Space planning

The Movement of Clockwork was design to emulate the inner workings of a clock with solids carved out. The carved solid resembles the conceptual idea of a gear. Within thesesolids and voids everyday items were housed or could be configured to the users needs

Spring 2011Synergy RestaurantField of study: residential and multiuse facility livingDesign by Jasmine JonesRendered by Phillip Snider

Challenged to integrate the Eames crosspatch print (1945). Used as a wall application in the synergy building which was design by 12 individuals including myself. On the entry level the restaurant was a neighbor to the business area, reception, bathrooms and alternate means of egress.

Spring 2012Lacie’s CafeField of study: Commercial design/ Computer aided softwareRendered in Revit and Photoshop

Lacie’s Cafe was designed within the South regional Library in Durham. Freelon Group (Durham) originally designed the space as a large meeting area.

The challenge: convert meeting space into a Cafe.

The design was inspired by Steven Bent who created the landscape artwork (Earth Cast Slabs) for the South Regional Library. Each of the materials within the cafe follow a nature inspired color scheme. Below are some of the food items on the menu at Lacie’s.
