Color Story

[Style Story]Key styles for this exciting trend include

graphic prints using bright colors and contrast with white, bold solid colors,

mini-mod dresses, and playful silhuoettes. Rolled cuffs and sneakers make it more functional for kids to play, imagine, and

reach their full creative potential.

[Fabric Story]In order to allow children to play and move freely, cotton and cotton-polyester blends will be popular for this trend. Lightweight linens and cotton batiste are perfect for

outdoor activities and will stay cool, keeping children more comfortable in warm

weather. Stretch denim and jersey-knit with spandex is great for tight clothing to allow stretch and ease during playtime.

ERIKA GUYNAN TREND FORECASTING

[Artisan Amateur][Trend]This free-spirited trend of muted colors, layering, and vintage style is welcoming the creative and artistic spirit back into children with open arms. Pops of color keep this mature trend kid-friendly.

[Style Story]Key styles showing in this trend are loosefitting clothing with a more shabby-chic and relaxed look. Looser tops, natural

colors, fedoras and berets, layered cardigans, and vintage shoes are just

some of the focuses for this trend. This look is all about being casual while still

upholding an expensive yet vintage feel.

[Fabric Story]Lightweight and stretch denim will be

popular for boys and girls to add a more casual feel to the clothing. Jersey-knit

for shirts and polyester-cotton poplin for blouses allow for easy flow and natural

feelings. Wool gauze is also an alternative to cotton and linen, creating an even more

natural feel and a more mature textile.

Spring/Summer Mega Trend 2013[The Little Things] This trend is focused on miniature accessories that will be very

This trend includes oversized flowered or bow headbands and pendants, scarves, hats, and jewelry pieces for girls and

boys. Shoes are a focus as well, with the future shoe lines becoming more

decorative. Young boys will be sporting bowties and suspenders, while young girls flounce in bright jewels and legwarmers.

Tulle, soft silks and satins, gems, and ribbons play up the headwear and

jewelry. Soft cottons and linens are used for scarves, while suede, straw, and

leather are used for hats and headbands.
