Global System for Mobile communication(GSM) technology. The designed & developedsystem is installed in the vehicle.. Once, thevehicle is being stolen, the information is being used by the vehicle owner for further

DESCRIPTION

• The process of working of this project isexplained as follows, this total equipment of this project placed in a vehicle. The authorized

 person details with mobile number and some predefined parameters are stored in theMicrocontroller. Whenever we find that our vehicle is missing then simply send a SMS or aMissed-Call to GSM Modem from theauthorized mobile after registering with theGSM modem. Then the Microcontroller gets

the location of vehicle found by the GPS

AT89C51  MICROCONTROLLER Ø The AT89C51 is a low-power, high-performance CMOS

• 8-bit microcomputer with 4Kbytes of Flash programmable and erasable

read only memory (PEROM).

Ø The device is manufactured using Atmel’s high density nonvolatile memory

technology . The on-chip Flash allows the program memory to be reprogrammed

in-system or by a conventional nonvolatile memory programmer.

Ø By combining a versatile 8-bit CPU with Flash on monolithic chip, the Atmel

AT89C51 is a powerful microcontroller which provides a highly-flexible and

cost-effective solution to many embedded control applications.

GSM MODEM

• A GSM modem is a wireless modemthat works with a GSM wirelessnetwork. A wireless modem behaves

like a dial-up modem. The maindifference between them is that adial-up modem sends and receives

data through a fixed telephone linewhile a wireless modem sends andreceives data through radio waves.

GPS Receiver

• GPS receivers takes the informationand use triangulation to calculate theuser's exact location. Essentially, the

GPS receiver compares the time asignal was transmitted by a satellitewith the time it was received. The

time difference tells the GPS receiverhow far away the satellite is. Now,with distance measurements from afew more satellites, the receiver candetermine the user's position and

FUTURE SCOPE

•   This project could be made moreconvenient and secure with the useof satellite modems instead of cell

phones as tracking device as thesystem may fail when there is nonetwork coverage. This design can

be made more enhanced in future tosupport camera, handset phone /hands free, mobile data LCD display,web based tracking software, also PCbased stand alone software. In our
