LocationThe deserts in the

world are located in North America and South America.

You can even find deserts in cold areas because deserts can be either hot or cold.

CharacteristicsSome deserts can be hot

or cold.The worlds largest

desert is the Sahara.It is 3,500,000 square

miles.Also it is 9,065,000

kilometers long.In the summer it can be

about 110 degrees .Some cactus grow to be

twelve feet tall.

Plant LifePlant life in the desert is

very hard because there is not a lot of water and the temperatures are extreme.

Some plants that live there can store water in their roots and their stems like the Saguaro Cactus.

The plants provide water and shade for desert animals

Animal LifeSome animals in the

desert can kill you.Lots of animals come out

at night so they can hunt.

Most animals will only come out at night because it is nice and cool at night.

Some of the animals that live in the desert are the foxes and wolves.
