Corinne Mack, Group Exercise Manager, created the Desert Mountain Mem-ber Holiday Bazaar about five years ago as a fun way to expose the many talents of our members and to kick off the holidays with some fun pre-holiday shopping.

This annual event has become a tradition at The Sonoran and though Corinne starts recruiting vendors (Desert Mountain members) in the spring, she always has more vendors than space allows and is continually updating the list making sure we have a nice selection of goods that do not interfere with items sold in the Sonoran Boutique. The Bazaar is held

the Saturday before Thanksgiving and has always been a sell-out among vendors and shoppers alike. I know the members all look forward to this annual event and the handful of ladies that help at the event have volun-

teered every year since its inception because it is so much fun. The event also raises funds for the C.A.R.E. Charitable Fund through the donations collected at a dessert table where the members have contributed tasty treats. The DM Member Holiday Bazaar has united members with their neighbors for a festive and memorable

event filled with the spirit of fun and goodwill.

A homegrown boutique at Desert Mountain? I had never thought of that but Corinne did several years ago and asked for feedback on the idea from a group of exercisers taking a water class. Thank You Gram

Christmas came early for the HR

team in the form of new (and much

improved) computers. Of course,

any time you’re replacing seven

computers for seven different people

with seven different access needs,

there are likely to be some hiccups.

In this case, they were very minimal

because of the due diligence of our

IT team. We would, specifically, like to

recognize Jimmie Padilla, Network Support

Specialist, who single-handedly installed each

of our new systems, returned a few times to

trouble-shoot less-than-satisfactory

keyboard and mouse connectivity,

and maintained the computers for

employee access. He was always

quick to respond (it helps he’s in the

same building), helpful and great

with follow up. Jimmie, we thank

you for all you do with keeping us

connected and running so we can

better serve our employees.
