The Desert Deserts cover about one fifth of the

earth’s land area. The desert is a harsh environment with very little rainfall and

extreme temperatures.

What makes a Desert?

A desert is defined as a region that gets less than ten inches of precipitation per

year.

Horned lizards are odd looking reptiles.There

lizards.

The Caracal ca be found in dry scrb,dry woodlands and semi deserts of Africa and

western Asia.

A Fennec Fox will dig a burrow underground and typically sleep there during the day when it is hottest.

This is a jerboaWhen on the move, jerboas are like mini

kangaroos.

People think llamas have two humps on there back but they

don’t.

These are red foxes.

This is a batA single brown bat can eat up to 1,000 mosquitoes in a

single hour.

This is a BobcatBobcats are elusive and nocturnal, so the are

rarely spotted by humans.

devil is the only species in its genus

and one of the strangest animals.

I learned that the deserts have less than ten inches of

rain per year. I was surprised by how many plants

there were.
